What's new dining spot in Kuala Lumpur? Recently sis discovered a perfect spot for a cozy meal and a taste of local flavors with modern twist at Butter Kaya Kopitiam in MyTOWN Shopping Centre. After a long day of shopping, finding a comfortable and cozy place to dine is such a heaven plus their food and beverages are so good, suits Malaysians tastebuds.

Butter Kaya Kopitiam is located on Level 1 of MyTOWN Shopping Centre, you will not miss it because its in between IKEA and and MyTOWN. The kopitiam has a modern and vibrant outlook that makes us feel welcome as we walk-in.

Butter Kaya Kopitiam seamlessly blends traditional "kopitiam" (traditional coffee shop) vibes with a modern touch. Many reviewers highlight the comfortable and sometimes "instagrammable" atmosphere, making it a pleasant place to dine with friends and family too.

They offers a diverse menu that caters to both traditional and modern tastes, from kids to elderly, their food menu is suitable for the whole family. As of now there are 4 Butter Kaya Kopitiam outlets in Malaysia located at Sama Square Wangsa Maju, Petaling Street, Melaka and the latest and newly opened is at MyTOWN Shopping Center.

We had the opportunity to meet Chef Irwan who is also the co-founder of Butter Kaya Kopitiam. He has an vast experience in F&B industry. His mission is not only to open more Butter Kaya Kopitiam branches throughout Malaysia but also aspires to bring this brand to the international market.

Here are some of Butter Kaya Kopitiam's signature dishes that we tried during out visit. Check it out! 

Roti John Korean Chicken

Unlike the normal roti john that I've tried, the Roti John at Butter Kaya Kopitiam is filled with lots of ingredients, made fresh, flavourful and unique. If you are a fans of Korean food you must try this Roti John Spicy Korean Chicken. There is gochujang sauce in it, well blend of sweet, sour and spicy, not too spicy you still can enjoy the taste. While the meat is covered with cheese and there are muruku crackers on top. Yumms!

Roti John Satay Lemak Crossover

Roti John Satay Lemak Crossover is filled with satay meat topped with muruku crackers. What's interesting about this Roti John Crossover combines sambal nasi lemak and sambal satay in it.

Nasi Lemak Rendang Ayam with Sambal Sotong

Nasi Lemak Rendang Ayam with Sambal Sotong with a variety of side dishes such as rendang chicken, sambal sotong, egg, anchovies, peanut, sambal and cucumber. The portion is generous and I love their sambal sotong, got the kick. 

Signature Chicken Curry Mee

Signature Chicken Curry Mee is special because they use their home-made mee tarik. The curry gravy is quite thick and flavourful with various ingredients like chicken, vegetables, fish cake and more. A satisfying bowl of mee curry. 

Dry Noodle Nasi Lemak

My first time trying Dry Noodle Nasi Lemak, its special as it combines their home-made mee tarik noodle with nasi lemak side dishes including sambal nasi lemak. You have to mix everything before we enjoy it. Simply delicious.

Omurice Creamy Kam Heong Chicken

Omurice Black Pepper Beef

Omurice Creamy Kam Heong Chicken is Japanese rice covered with omelette and topped with Butter Kaya Kopitiam special ingredients such as Kam Heong Chicken and Black Pepper Beef. The combination is flavourful and the portion plus ingredients also a lot.  

Chicken Satay

The Chicken Satay is juicy and tender using a unique satay marinade recipe from Butter Kaya Kopitiam and enjoy with peanut sauce. Each set comes with 6 skewers. 

Rojak Jumbo Rolls

This Rojak Jumbo Rolls is one of my favorite dishes too, love the bite size and filled with ingredients. Perfect for sharing or afternoon snacks.

 Apam Balik Lava Bun

Apam Balik Lava Bun is special and tasty, can't imagine apam balik look like this right. The Apam Balik texture soft and in it there is an overflow of peanuts and corns filling.

Overall, the ambience and environment in the kopitiam is spacious and cozy with minimalist modern decor, love their vibrant vibes that make people feel welcome. The staff is friendly and attentive too. 

We had a great time, enjoy so many of their signature dishes and beverages. I would recommend you to try Butter Kaya Kopitiam with your friends and family. Enjoy your moments ya.
