Hey are you planning your trip to Hatyai? I have been to HatYai via flight, coach, car, but this round its something special. I boarded the sleeper train Sawasdee Train from KL Sentral to HatYai, it was a fun experience. Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has partnered with Golden Century Tour & Travel to offer tour packages for Malaysian tourists to travel to Thailand by the Special Charter Sawasdee Train on the Kuala Lumpur - Hat Yai route from July 26-29, 2024.

Its a direct train depart at night and you reach Hatyai the next morning. There were more that 400 Malaysian tourists boarded this Special Charter Sawasdee Train, including myself.

Ms. Thapanee Kiatpaiboon, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, stated that the majority of Malaysian tourists prefer to travel to Thailand by land, accounting for 70% of all arrivals. Songkhla, Betong, and Satun are popular provinces that have experienced significant growth in tourist arrivals, with Hat Yai in Songkhla province being a particularly favored destination.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has also partnered with Malaysian travel agencies to create a special tour package featuring the "Sawasdee Train," a special chartered train service from Kuala Lumpur to Hat Yai. Together with local partners in Hat Yai, a warm welcome has been prepared for these Malaysian tourists.

This inaugural Special Charter Sawasdee Train with package tour, aims to promote and stimulate increased tourism to Thailand, while also creating memorable experiences and enhancing the value of tourism in the country. The Special Charter Sawasdee Train will depart from KL Sentral Station in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on July 26, 2024, and head to HatYai Junction Station in Songkhla Province, Thailand, returning on July 29, 2024.

During this event, TAT, together with Makro and Lotus, will organize welcoming activities for arriving tourists at Hat Yai Train Station on July 27, 2024.
The aim is to create a memorable experience for visitors. HatYai Station, operated by the State Railway of Thailand, provides excellent facilities for this event. Each tourist will receive a 400-baht cash voucher to spend at Makro, HatYai.

Additionally, tourists visiting during this period will also receive a special welcome gift set and can enjoy the "Lotus's Amazing Fruits Buffet Fest" a delicious buffet of fresh fruits sponsored by Ekachai Distribution System Co., Ltd. Traveling by the Sawasdee Train will help to improve connectivity between the two countries and is expected to boost tourism, attract more Malaysian tourists to Thailand, generate income for the tourism industry, and promote good relations between Thailand and Malaysia.

The Sawasdee Train is a special train service that operates between Kuala Lumpur and Hat Yai. The train is equipped with comfortable seating and sleeping compartments, as well as a dining car and a lounge. It is scheduled for a total of 8 trips, without a package tour, in 2024 and focuses on operating during festivalperiods and school holidays in Malaysia.
