Odyssée Plastique: A Regional Initiative to Raise Awareness of Environmental Protection |
Seven public schools (SMS Setiu, SMK Sultan Omar, SMS Dungun, SMK Sultan Sulaiman, SBPI Batu Rakit, SMS Hulu Terengganu, and SMK Rantau Petronas) from the state of Terengganu participated in this event over the course of two days. The line-up included a conference from a researcher from University of Malaysia Terengganu, a movie screening, a beach clean-up, and interactive workshops led by the University of Malaysia Terengganu, The Sea Monkey Project, Veolia, Hara Makers, and Majlis Perbandaran Kemaman.
Plastic Odyssey is a regional initiative taking place between May and September 2024 in a number of cities across Asia, which aims to raise awareness among young French-speaking learners about sustainable development and the protection of our oceans, with a focus on reducing plastic pollution. The event has also enabled students to improve their command of the French language, encouraging them to interact in French and immerse themselves in different cultures.
