Following the poor health of Mr. Fu Wing Cheung and his son who did not want to continue the family business, the brand which has crossed the age of more than half a century, is now taken over by Mr. Sundy Chim, an apprentice trusted by Mr. Fu Wing Cheung.

For the branch in Malaysia, they introduced a special dessert which is Durian Rice Cake which uses Musang King durian. "We chose Malaysia because Malaysians like to enjoy good food, so it is called a "foodie destination". In addition, the variety of food types that can be found in Malaysia is one of the reasons why we opened our first branch in Malaysia" he added.

Kwan Kee Cafe in Malaysia is currently in the process of getting a HALAL recognition certificate from JAKIM and for now all the ingredients used are purchased from HALAL suppliers to ensure that all races in Malaysia can taste the delicious sweets and cakes from Kwan Kee.
