The Festival of Lights Comes Alive at The Gardens Mall. Celebrating in style, this year’s Kolam is inspired by sarees and measures an impressive 600sq ft! Housed beneath a pavilion, a rotating mannequin draped with an embroidered saree sits atop a platform of the Kolam that also showcases the art of saree-making, with displays of weaving looms, threads, and jewellery.

The mall is on a mission to spread the joy and appreciation for the intricate craftsmanship that goes into saree-making. Apart from informational signages around the Kolam, the mall has also organised saree-draping workshops for shoppers to participate in and learn how to match different styles of draping with the different saree fabric lengths.

With some sarees measuring up to 8.2 metres long (that’s more than a third of a standard tennis court!), it may appear a daunting task to manage all that fabric. As such, The Gardens Mall wishes for shoppers to seize the opportunity to learn this skill.
To add to the festive atmosphere, shoppers can expect to be delighted with the music and dance performances happening every weekend at 1pm and 3pm until the 13th of November. Come watch the precise movements of the Kathak dancers, the graceful extensions of the Bharatanatyam performers, and the liveliness and joy during the Garba performance!
