The National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) has teamed up with cancer survivors to proudly unveil their highly anticipated second cookbook, titled "Around the Table Once More ... Recipes for Cancer Patients and Family." The launch event took place at the elegant Dorsett Hartamas Hotel today, marking a remarkable collaboration that promises to inspire and support cancer patients and their loved ones.

Within the pages of this 150-odd page cookbook lie a wealth of culinary treasures, a testament to the dedication and passion of contributors and volunteers who worked tirelessly over a span of 6 months. From handpicking the finest recipes to offering invaluable feedback, and meticulously tasting each creation, this cookbook represents a labour of love that transcends its culinary appeal.
Cooking enthusiasts and caregivers alike will be delighted to discover a diverse array of recipes, spanning from soul-warming soups and light meals to hearty main courses, refreshing juices and smoothies, and delectable desserts and snacks.
The cookbook's editor, Adeline Joseph, also serves as the head of NCSM's resource and wellness centre. "Following the success of our first edition, we aimed to preserve the essence of the book while underscoring the significance of shared family meals for both patients and their caregivers," commented Adeline Joseph.
In an endeavour to provide holistic support, the team worked with NCSM’s dietitians to include a nutritional value chart accompanying each recipe, offering caregivers a quick reference for selecting and preparing meals tailored to the specific dietary requirements of patients undergoing treatment.
"A multitude of these cherished recipes stem from the heart, cooked with love by families for their cancer-stricken relatives, and even by the patients themselves. Fostering a wellnourished body through nutritious Cuisine is paramount during the healing journey post clinical therapies," emphasised NCSM President Dato’ Dr Saunthari Somasundaram.

Gracing the launch ceremony were renowned celebrity chef Datuk Ismail Ahmad, together with NCSM President Dato’ Dr Saunthari Somasundaram, and NCSM Managing Director Associate Professor Dr M. Murallitharan.
Priced at RM40 per copy, the cookbook is now available for purchase through NCSM’s Resource and Wellness Centre.
