IMBA Becomes Italcham Malaysia, as the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia

Italy Malaysia Business Association (IMBA) has received official recognition from the Italian Government as a Chamber of Commerce, and from now onwards be formally referred to/known as Italcham Malaysia – Italian Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia.

Gala Italia 2022, Cavalli fashion Show

Italcham Malaysia revealed its Chamber of Commerce Recognition during the Gala Italia 2022 that took place on December 08, 2022, at JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The Gala Italia 2022 was held in conjunction with the celebrations of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, an annual event that takes place in more than 100 countries globally, and is organised by the Italian Foreign Ministry. 

In Malaysia, it is jointly organised by the Italian Embassy and the Italian Trade Agency in Kuala Lumpur in collaboration with Italcham Malaysia. This year’s campaign focused on ‘Conviviality, Sustainability and Innovation’, as well as represents an opportunity to promote the quality of Italian agri-food products, enhance the values of the Italian sustainable and healthy lifestyle rooted in the Mediterranean Diet, and foster innovation in the agri-tech field in order to rethink our dysfunctional agri-food systems.

The Gala Italia kicked off with an Aperitivo that featured live music and was followed by a sit-down dinner, in which over 250 members and non-members of the Italy-Malaysian business community enjoyed the special Italian dinner that was curated by Chef Paolo Cola of Zenzero Kuala Lumpur. 

The Gala also hosted a variety of live performances from both local and Italian talents, as well as an exclusive fashion show from Roberto Cavalli in which models showcased Cavalli’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection on the runway stage.

Italcham Malaysia is committed to promoting and facilitating trade and investments between Malaysia and Italy. The Chamber is a part of the Assocamerestero network and works alongside over 80 other Italian Chambers of Commerce worldwide to provide support in bilateral cooperation and assistance between Malaysian and Italian businesses.
