Recently, I discovered a must visit city called Suwon 수원시, the capital of Gyeonggi Province in North-Western, South Korea after I attended Suwon Tourism Seminar organized by Suwon Cultural Foundation recently. I was mesmerized by Suwon’s Hwaseong Media Art Show, not only that there are so many exciting places and experiences to explore too. Let's check out Why We Should Visit Suwon?

1. Transportation
Transportation to Suwon is well established, Suwon is near to Seoul (Myeongdong) or Incheon Airport, it’s just 1 hour by Car or 2 hours by Subway
2. Lower Cost of Living
Suwon is a more leisure city, less hustle and bustle of the busy city with well-developed transportation, tourist attractions, accommodations, and many more. With lower cost of living compared to big city, you can enjoy more at reasonable pricing and some of the tourist attractions and performances are free.
3. Rich in Tourism Assets
Suwon are rich in cultural, heritage, arts, and tourism assets.

Boosts the most unique shape in the history of Korean fortress wall that contain the dream of Jeongjo, a reformer of Joseon Dynasty. This fortress is spectacular be it day or night, it brings back the ancient historical and heritage of Suwon, it’s a must visit.

Hwaseong Haenggung or Hwaseong Palace is another attraction that you must not miss when you are in Suwon. It was the palace where King Jeongjo resided temporarily when he visited Hyeonryungwon, his father's tomb.

Hwaseong Haenggung is the famous filming location for many Korean TV dramas and movies such as Love in The Moonlight, Moon Embracing the Sun, The Red Sleeve, A Jewel in the Palace, and many more. There are also numerous of Free performances too.

Besides the historical and cultural sites, Suwon also famous for its instagramable cafes and restaurants at Haenggung-dong Street and also scenic picnic location at Banghwasuryujeong.
