Dental Crowns

The dental crown is in the shape of a tooth placed atop a damaged tooth. So, the tooth is completely encased within the crown to protect and hide worn-out or broken teeth. Moreover, dental crowns vary by the material; the most common types are metal and porcelain. There are also different types of crowns depending on how long you'll use them.

Porcelain Crown. This type of dental crown has a natural-looking color that would match your existing teeth. They're made with several layers of porcelain lasting between six to 14 years.

Metal Crown. This is a strong crown made from stainless steel or various metal alloys. One downside is that the color doesn't match your existing set of teeth. Metal crowns can last up to 15 years.

Temporary Crown. This dental crown will only last in your mouth for a short period. The dentist will place the crown over your tooth using an adhesive that can be easily removed. This is usually an alternative for patients waiting for their permanent crown to be completed.

Onlay or 3/4 Crown. This type of dental crown is unlike other types. Instead of covering a tooth entirely, the only crown only covers a portion.

Deciding what type of crown to get can be confusing, and sometimes, a dentist might advise you to take the onlay crown instead of the full crown. Thus, it would be best to visit the most reliable west end dentist available.

If you reside in the USA, choosing the top dental clinic in your state would be easy and efficient, as there are approximately 187,000 dental offices in the country. While this may seem like an overwhelming number, it gives you tons of choices.

Meanwhile, there may be an oversupply of dentists in countries like Australia despite having fewer numbers than in the US. Still, you must look for one carefully and choose a dentist that provides comfort, convenience, and care. For example, if you live in the suburbs of Gordon Park and Kedron, finding the best Northern Brisbane Dentist near you allows you to go to your appointments hassle-free and immediately get the care you need.

Once you have the right dentist, you’ll feel at ease with any dental procedure you might undergo.

Dental Braces

A brace is a dental tool that helps correct issues with your teeth. Braces are used to correct misalignment, crooked teeth, and crowding. The braces help align your teeth properly to have a normal bite.

People usually get this when they're younger, around when they're teenagers, around 9 to 14 years old. These years are the ideal age because it's around when the children get their permanent teeth. Although adults can also have dental braces, the treatment might take longer.

Dental Veneers

If you're planning to get cosmetic dental surgery but wish to keep your natural teeth, veneers can help you. Dental veneers offer substantial correction without affecting your natural teeth.

Veneers are thin, custom-made ceramic shells made solely for your teeth, which adhere to the frontal area of your mouth. The veneers help solve problems related to staining, mismatched teeth, cracks, or chips. It's also perfect for older people experiencing wear and tear from aging.

Moreover, to give you absolute customization and fit, there are several types of veneer options that you can choose from. The most common types are porcelain and composite.

Composite Veneers. This type of veneer is made from composite resin, produced from organic and inorganic substances. Moreover, you don't have to worry about the latter material because the veneers will not irritate the surrounding tissue of your teeth. So you can be at ease. This is an inexpensive option that can last five to seven years.

Porcelain Veneers. This type of veneer is made of a tooth-colored ceramic shell that makes it very natural. Although porcelain veneers can be expensive, it's solid and durable and can last up to 15 years. Also, it's biocompatible, so patients will never experience allergic reactions to your other healthy teeth.

Teeth Whitening

If you're having problems with dental staining but don’t want to wear veneers, then you can try looking into teeth whitening. This dental procedure is also a popular cosmetic procedure in dentistry. As its name suggests, it helps brighten your teeth by bleaching.

Unfortunately, some dental problems prevent you from whitening yourself with a simple brushing due to frequent smoking, food stains, or medication. Teeth medication is a simple procedure that's also inexpensive and can quickly improve your smile.

Dental Implants

Once an adult loses a tooth, there's no chance it'll grow back. Fortunately, cosmetic dental implants provide people with an option to improve their smiles. It's a dental procedure that replaces the tooth roots, providing a solid foundation for a permanent or temporary (removable) teeth replacement.

The dentist will implant a metal rod in the jawbone that will replace the root portion of the missing teeth, and an artificial tooth will be placed on the extension of the implant to have a natural-looking tooth. This'll help restore the ability to chew and reduce the jawbone from shrinking.

Final Thoughts

After looking into this list, you probably know what type of procedure you will get. However, you can't make any decisions yourself and would need expert advice from a licensed dentist. Still, knowing your possible options will help you decide better in the future.
