The Seven Wonders of Malaysia signature dishes

The Seven Wonders of Malaysia signature dishes

✨ Itik Salai Masak Lemak Cili Padi from Negeri Sembilan

✨ Manuk Pansuh from Sabah

✨ Rendang Tok Batu Kikir from Perak

✨ Udang Galah Masak Di Raja from Pahang

✨ Asam Pedas Ekor Lembu from Melaka

✨ Otak-Otak Lobster from Johor

✨ Kambing Bakar from Selangor

The master chefs at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara demonstre their skills by showcasing seven signature dishes – the Seven Wonders of Malaysia. We travelled to Negeri Sembilan through its spicy Itik Salai Masak Lemak Chilli Padi – smoked duck cooked in a spicy coconut broth, or to Sabah on the wonderful aroma of Manuk Pansuh – chicken cooked in bamboo stalk.

Rendang Tok Batu Kikir from Perak

Experience Perak through the taste of its Rendang Tok Batu Kikir – beef short ribs braised for six hours in coconut gravy and Malay spices, and neighbouring Pahang’s Udang Galah Masak Di Raja – cooked with giant river prawns sourced directly from the state’s main river veins.

Udang Galah Masak Di Raja from Pahang

I personally like the Pahang’s Udang Galah Masak Di Raja, not only the giant river prawns are so fresh, huge, and succulent, cooked with well-balanced spices and taste just right. You must try this if you love seafood, especially prawns.

Take a journey through Malaysia’s historical, Melaka’s Asam Pedas Ekor Lembu – mouth-watering oxtail cooked slowly in a hot and sour broth, or Johor’s Otak-Otak Lobster – Asian fish mousseline served generously with lobster, wrapped in a banana leaf parcel, and every Selangorian’s feast must have, Kambing Bakar – tender spiced lamb roasted over a charcoal fire.

Kambing Bakar from Selangor

The Selangor Kambing Bakar and briyani rice is also must try. Apart from that they also have variety types of sashimi and sushi plus fresh seafood galore such as tiger prawns, oysters, scallops, baby lobsters, and more.

Assorted Sushi and Sashimi

There are a few live cooking stations serving soup gear box, asam pedas, ikan bakar, and more. I find that they also served authentic Indian cuisines and many types of ulam, kerabu, and sambal. Not forgetting their wide varieties of local dessert, kuih muih, cakes, and bubur.

Fresh Seafood

Overall, it’s a satisfying dinner and at Destinasi Rasa Serantau @ Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara you get to savour the Seven Wonders of Malaysia signature dishes and more.

Omg.. I love their Sashimi

Throughout this journey, be taken on a trance by a traditional Gamelan performance – a percussion orchestra originating from Indonesia – to lift your senses while you dine in Kwee Zeen.
