They were greeted by the members of Alamanda’s management team when they arrived, before being escorted for a sumptuous CNY lunch at Secret Recipe. The mood was further enlivened when the children were treated to kiddie rides in the mall before being ushered to the Centre Court to witness the lion dance performance.

As part of the CNY tradition, the children were then gifted with ‘angpow’ as well as mandarin oranges presented by the General Manager of Alamanda, Pang Sook Fong. The event was made more meaningful when Alamanda’s retail partners also contributed some snacks and  goodies to the children.

Andrew Brien, Executive Director of Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd said, “The Year of Tiger symbolises new beginnings as we recover from the pandemic. It is also a time to rekindle the spirit of togetherness. As important as it is to be in the accompaniment of friends and families during this festivity, we must remember that many do not have this privilege. In view of this and as part of the mall’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) effort, we are honoured to host these children and we are hopeful that this event will be a memorable one for them.”

The caretaker of Persatuan Kebajikan Anak Anak Yatim Sayang KL and Selangor, Madam Foo Jong Hong said, "This CNY treat by Alamanda definitely means a lot to us especially the children. The celebration is not just about receiving ‘angpow’ or the goodies, but also the care and attention these children received at this time of the year when most of us have the privilege to celebrate Chinese New Year with our loved ones.”
