A recent study by GSK Consumer Healthcare and Ipsos examining how COVID-19 impacted consumer behaviour around their own oral healthcare finds that the decreased frequency of dental visits during the pandemic was the biggest driver in changing oral healthcare habits among consumers in Southeast Asia during this period1. Among the tooth sensitivity sufferers in Malaysia, 39% are aware of their condition, while another 32% experienced sensitivity symptoms but are unaware of the condition2.

There are a range of things that can trigger a twinge or tooth sensation for people with sensitive teeth3. The SEAT Quantitative Research also showed that most tooth sensitivity sufferers experience discomfort in their teeth when they are brushing their teeth (38%), from food getting caught between gum and denture (33%), eating or drinking cold (58%), hot (23%), sweet (31%), acidic or sour (29%), and spicy (15%) food and drinks2.
