According to statistics, legal cannabis spending in North America is expected to reach US 34.1 billion by 2024.

Here is a list of must-haves for smokers to help you get started.

1. Dab Nails

Dab nails come in all shapes and sizes, but the most popular size seems to be 14mm or 18mm. Different kinds of nails are available, such as quartz, titanium, and ceramic, and some smokers even use glass.

The best thing would be to research and choose the one you like most. One thing for sure, make sure the devices are compatible with your rig's joint size, as this will determine what tool you need to heat your nail.

2. Carb Cap

A carb cap is a must-have if you are using domeless nails. Its function is to control airflow when you take the dab hit, ensuring that the vapor production is optimal and there is no waste.

It can add a little pressure on your nail to control the vapor flow. If you want to use this, make sure it will fit your rig's joint size. Otherwise, you have to buy another one.

3. Torch/Creme Brulee Torch

Torches are an excellent choice if you do not own any other heat source. The most common colors are blue and yellow. They are effortless to use, but they have limitations, so you might want to consider some alternatives if you plan to smoke dabs regularly.

You can buy different torches (bigger ones give more heat, but they are harder to control the temperature with), or you can use a creme brulee torch. You will need an alternative to create the necessary flame.

4. Bubbler

A bubbler is a great choice for those who wish to enjoy dabbing without the harshness of traditional rigs. The design of a bubbler distributes the vapor through water, creating a smoother hit.

You can buy pre-made water pipes that come with built-in perc and slides, or you can purchase different pieces to create your custom bubbler. There are also rigs that function as dab nails and a bubbler by simply replacing the slide.

5. Dab Tools

Dab tools are used for keeping your concentrates on the dab nail properly. There are many different tools of all shapes and sizes, but they usually come in two forms: a spoon or a scoop.

Most dabbers prefer a scoop because it is more efficient in picking up the right amount of concentrate. The spoon-shaped tool is more versatile because it can be used to pick up wax from a container or apply it to another surface, but the scoop will let you use less product and save money.

6. Dab Container

Having storage for your concentrates is essential if you dab regularly. There are small containers with a small dab tool that are easy to carry but will waste your wax.

Many different options depend on the size of your collection and how much you smoke, so it is up to you to decide which container works best for you.

7. A Silicone Container

Dabbing uses very high temperatures so that any excess heat will melt your wax. It is best to have a silicone container that can withstand high temperatures, but some prefer glass for better airflow.

The container can be placed on or next to your dab rig. You can buy more than one container, but usually, just one will be enough for most smokers.

8. Dab Rag/Wipes

Any rag or wipes are suitable for cleaning off any leftovers on the dab nail after smoking dabs. It would be best if you also had something to clean the excess oil off of your hands.

There are many different wipes and rags these days, so look around to find the one that works best for you! Some use alcohol, and others use a water-based solution. There is no ideal solution, so choose whatever feels right to you.

9. Dab Mat

A dab mat is a great addition to have when you smoke dabs on your bed or any other surface that might get ruined from the wax. It will also help prevent mess on your floor or table where the dab rig is placed.

10. Carrying Case

Most smokers have more than one dab rig, so a carrying case is convenient to store all of them. It will also protect your glass from breaking in any situation. There are many cases available depending on the size and quantity of your collection. You can buy an expensive hard-shell case or use any container you find around your house.

How to Maintain Your Dabbing Equipment?

Here are some helpful tips for maintaining your dabbing equipment.

You must never try to heat the nail with just a lighter, and it usually takes ten seconds, and once you know this, it is easy.

If you do not hear any bubbling sounds after that time, put some more heat on there, or use a different temperature.

Most products have a recommended temperature, so use that as a guide. Using too much heat can lead to inhaling harmful chemicals.

After dabs, use a dab tool and some ISO alcohol to burn off any leftover residue to clean the nail after dabs. Make sure it is spotless before using it again.

It would help if you used high-grade silicone or glass for your containers, not plastic. The high temperatures can melt your wax.

You must protect any surfaces you might be dabbing on by covering them with a mat or clean towel, and it will help prevent ruining anything in the process.

Do not use a nail past its expiration date. If you have been using it for a while and the taste starts to change, it is probably time to get a new one.

If you are trying out different nails, check the diameter before buying them. Some are too big or small for specific rigs and won't fit!
