Hada Labo in collaboration with Women of Will (WOW) & Watsons have successfully raised RM50,000 for its month-long ‘We Care Society’ campaign. The campaign, which was launched in conjunction with the Raya celebration earlier in May, was aimed at supporting the underprivileged women with baking skills and confidence to succeed and thrive in their businesses and livelihoods within their communities.
B40 Women Bakers Benefited from “We Care Society” Campaign
Through the campaign this year, 30 women from selected B40
communities were offered training in baking as a way to upskill them. A total
of 40,000 cookies were baked, which were then distributed to 300 families from
3 People’s Housing Projects in the Klang Valley, namely PPR Batu Muda, PPR
Pekan Batu and PPR Beringin.
The selected B40 women bakers, who have a household income
of less than RM2,500 are currently
residing in the Batu Muda People’s Housing Project located in Jalan, Ipoh,
Sentul.
Rhoto-Mentholatum General Manager Lim Mei Yuen said she is
glad that the campaign was a success and she thanked the public for their
generous support for Hada Labo in spreading joy and love to the
underpriveileged community during the Raya celebration.
The Hada Labo ‘We Care for Society’ was held for the second
year as the brand’s commitment and initiative to give back to society. Through
the campaign, RM1 from the sales proceed of each Hada Labo lotion products sold
at Watsons outlets nationwide were chanelled to the ‘We Care for Society’ fund.
Last year, the brand also managed to raise funds for the underprivileged
B40women whose livelihoods were impacted by the pandemic.
Meanwhile, WoW Chief Operating Officer Lakshwin Muruga has
expressed his gratitude to Hada Labo for
the continuous effort to help the underprivileged women.
“Although we are faced with a new reality that compelled us
to keep a distance from one another this year, but we are glad to have received
continuous support from Hada Labo. Not
only have we managed to lay a foundation to help the B40 group to achieve
financial independence, but through the cookie distribution, we were also able
to enliven the mood of the needy,” commented Laskwhin.
