Sunway Resort kicks off this year’s Lunar New Year celebrations with an exciting take-away menu filled with symbolic ingredients and prosperous dishes for a memorable Year of the Ox. From now until 28 February 2021 under the theme “Prosperous Beginnings”, enjoy the month-long festivity with family or loved ones at home or have it specially delivered to those you can’t meet up with this year and treat them to some glorious food consisting of a mix of authentic and traditional dishes.

Overall, all the food are packed and sealed neatly so when I received it I can served it straight on the dining table that save a lot of cleaning up after the feast. Or alternatively you can serve it on your own tableware as well. The most important is all dishes are freshly cooked and prepared so when I received it its still warm, so tasty, and smells great. The portions are satisfying too.

PROSPEROUS YEE SANG DRIVE-THRU

The Resort Café is offering diners a toss to prosperity with the Prosperous Yee Sang available via its drive-thru take-away counter, located outside the restaurant on the main street of Persiaran Lagoon. Or delivery to be arranged through Grab Delivery or Lalamove where charges will be borne by the guest and paid directly to the service provider upon order submission.

This year, the Prosperous Yee Sang comes in six (6) variations with a choice of three (3) sauces available in full and half portions with healthy options as well. Available from now until 28 February 2021 from 10am – 10pm and last pick up at 8pm. In addition, Sunway Pals members can enjoy 10% off their total food bill.  

The choices include Premium Soft-shell Crab & Asian Snow Pear Yee Sang served with assorted vegetable pickles, Salted Egg Yolk, Crispy Shrimp & Asian Snow Pear Yee Sang served with assorted vegetable pickles, Fresh Salmon Trout & Asian Snow Pear Yee Sang served with assorted vegetable pickles, Jelly Fish Yee Sang served with assorted vegetable pickles, Vegetarian Asian Snow Pear Yee Sang served with pure MCT oil honey dressing and assorted vegetable pickles and lastly, vegetarian Fruity & Roasted Flaxseed Yee Sang which requires a pre-order of 2 hours in advance.

This year, you can select from a range of mouth-watering dishes in the “Huat”-to-you” menu including the must-have Yee Sang and scrumptious Chinese delicacies and desserts; or from our family set menus that serves from three (3) to eight (8) persons.

For those who prefer to select and combine their favourite Chinese New Year dishes, the Huat-To-You a la carte menu has a mix of chef’s signature dishes and local favourites. The signature dishes include Roast Duck Marinated in fresh herbs and spices, Braised 6-Headed South American Abalone, Braised Sea Cucumber stuffed with seafood treasure, Chef’s Special Roasted Lamb Shoulder Steak, Deep-Fried King Tiger Prawns, Slow-Stewed Beef Short Ribs & Tendon on E-Fu Noodle and Fried Long-Grain Rice with Waxed Meat and fluffy Yam. The menu also includes delectable desserts such as Pineapple Tart, Orange and Red Velvet CNY Cake, Tang Yuan and more.

For families between the size of three (3) to eight (8) persons, there are Family Set Menus available which is ideal and comes with various choices under the Auspicious, Bountiful and Celebration Set. At MYR288nett, each set consists of 5 dishes including the traditional Yee Sang, options of Chicken, Lamb and Fish, and waxed meat rice options such as the Hong Kong-Style Waxed Meat Glutinous Rice, Fried Rice with Waxed Meat and Chicken Floss and Waxed Meat Fried Rice.

There are also options for slightly larger families, between six (6) to eight (8) persons. Under the “Abundance Set” priced at MYR488nett, diners can enjoy dishes that includes Vegetarian Yee Sang, Roasted Flaxseed Choy Yuen Chicken (whole bird), Chicken with Shredded Scallop and Arrowhead stuffed in Lotus Bean Buns, Stewed Lamb Trotter, Deep-Fried Tiger Prawn, Hong Kong-style Waxed Meat Glutinous Rice and for dessert, Sesame Dumpling Filled with Nin Gao. The “Fortune Set” priced at MYR628nett offers Jelly Fish & Salmon Yee Sang with assorted pickles, dressed in traditional plum sauce, Chef’s Special - Roasted Marinated lamb Shoulder Steak, Roasted Flaxseed Choy Yuen Chicken (whole bird), Deep-Fried Tiger Prawn with honey umami sauce, Braised Korean Dried Oyster with duo bean curd and sea moss, served with garden greens, Fried Rice with Waxed Meat & Chicken Floss and finish off with a fluffy Pineapple Pie.

Roasted Black Truffle Duck

A special and unique addition to the Huat-To-You a la carte menu is a new recipe curated by Chef - The Roasted Black Truffle Duck, giving the classic Chinese roast duck recipe a glamorous update with the addition of luxurious truffle. The duck is prepared by first marinating it in a special stock filled with herbs for 2-hours, thereafter stuffed with truffle paste, shallots, fresh orange and black garlic, and roasted to perfection making the meat tender and juicy, good enough to eat it on its own or accompanied by Chefs signature plum sauce. The Roasted Black Truffle Duck is available for a limited time only and requires a pre-order of minimum 24 hours. Priced at MYR188nett (actual price MYR228) per bird.

The “Prosperous Set” priced at MYR768nett offers Abalone Clam and Salmon Yee Sang with assorted pickles, dressed in traditional plum sauce, Roasted Duck with Chinese Herbs (whole bird), Teochew-style stuffed whole Sea Cucumber served with greens, Stir-Fried assorted Vegetables, Deep-Fried Tiger Prawn, Waxed Meat Fried Rice with Yam Cube on Lotus Leaf and Home-Made Pandan Dumpling.
