Malaysians Braved Daebak’s Limited Edition Ghost Pepper Combo Pack Challenge to Help Communities in Need |
The brand known for its Ghost Pepper Spicy Chicken Black Noodles took to its Facebook page in October 2020 announcing the Trick And Treat contest, where consumers were encouraged to purchase and consume the new Limited Edition Ghost Pepper Combo Pack from 7-Eleven outlets nationwide for a chance to win one of the three cash prizes of RM10,000 each. The contest, encompassing the challenge (trick) and cash prizes and donation (treat) elements, saw Malaysians sharing their experiences consuming the spicy offerings in the combo pack on social media.
Daebak Donation Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary, Lighthouse Children Welfare Home Association and Rumah Victory Children and Youth Home
The winners — Muhammad Hawari Bin Hashim, Aznie Anneesa Binti Azmi, and Chua Yuen Hang, were all smiles as half their prize money will aid the allocation of provisions, day-to-day operations, school fees, and upkeep of facilities of the selected orphanage homes — Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary, Lighthouse Children Welfare Home Association and Rumah Victory Children and Youth Home. On top of the prize money, the brand generously donated an additional RM5,000 to each home, bringing the total donation for each home to RM10,000.
Daebak also encouraged social media users to extend their donations, either monetary or in kind to these orphanage homes. The brand made its visits to these homes last month to distribute provisions and treats to the children, recognizing them as those among few who had been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Daebak always aims to produce and deliver the greatest and most awesome experiences to its consumers, through our range of Korean noodles. This year, we chose to embark on a different approach by giving back to communities in need while creating unforgettable experiences for Malaysians, which we hope will be the first of many initiatives by the brand,” said Vuitton Pang Hee Cheah, Chief Executive Officer of Daebak.
