Stand up paddle boarding has become increasingly popular in the last few years, and that shows no signs of changing. A relatively new watersport, it’s said to have been invented by Hawaiians when the waves weren’t big enough for surfing.

stand up paddle boarding lessons for beginners, where you can rent equipment
and take your first strokes out onto the water. Once you’ve mastered the
basics, paddle boarding is one of the most versatile sports there is. You can
use your board for a variation of surfing, yoga, or even fishing.

Swimming

Be sure to check the
currents before heading out into the waves though - some beaches have dangerous
riptides and currents. It’s always best to swim in a designated swimming area
or in the presence of a lifeguard!
Snorkeling and/or
scuba diving
Here’s one if you love wildlife and marine life. Snorkeling and scuba diving will help you get just that little bit closer to fish, rays, and sometimes even whales and sharks - depending on where you are, of course.
Snorkelling is
usually good for shallower waters and it’s a great family activity. It’s a

Walking or Running
Not every activity you can do on the beach has to end in getting wet. Walking or running is a wonderful way to improve your fitness, or to take in the scenery surrounding you.

However, sometimes it
is just nice to feel the warm sand between your toes.
Beach Volleyball
Another beach activity that will leave you staying dry - but most likely getting a little sandy! Beach volleyball is good if you’re traveling with a group of family and friends, especially if there’s a net waiting for you.
If not, no need to worry. You can just make your own court! Beach volleyball is different to the regular version of this sport - it’s on a smaller pitch and you don’t have to worry about an attack line. Just remember to bring a ball with you!

Kayaking
Like snorkelling and
scuba diving, sea kayaking is a great way to get up close and meet marine life.
Often, you can see far down into the water (again, depending on where you are),
or head into caves and spot sea lions or smaller animals such as crabs. Kayaking
can help you to explore more than just the beach you’re on - it’s lots of fun
to paddle out to nearby islands or perhaps a secluded cove and chill there with
a picnic. On beaches known for these types of cove, it’s not hard to find a
tour or rental shop where you can pick up the necessary equipment.
Cliff Jumping
A sure-fire way to
get the adrenaline flowing, cliff jumping is a fun and safe activity that will
increase your heart rate. If you’re new to the sport, be sure to go on a tour
