Kampai x Itadakimasu! It’s SO Izakaya Night Out @ SOULED OUT of premium Sake and Shochu, Gin, Cocktails, and Japanese contemporary tapas. After making an impressive debut in July with a month-long Mojito celebration, SOULed OUT’s new concept Funky Bar transforms yet again, bringing patrons a brand-new look, taste and feel every Thursday through Saturday.

The SO Izakaya will be
running from September 3rd to October 31st, 2020, this time round, you will be
transported to the land of the Rising Sun. The night kicked off with the
tasting of sake Koikawa Junmai Daiginjo, Asahigiku Daichi Junmai Ginjo,
Asahigiku Tokubetsu Junmai; to Roku Gin; and four different Sake and Shochu
cocktails by Shawn Chong.

Daiginjo
Its smooth, fruity,
and light with umami flavour. Comfortable in the throat and the depth of taste
are perfect. Out the these 3 sakes, I like this the most.
Asahigiku Daichi
Junmai Ginjo
It has gentle umami
of rice with a mild acidity that are well balanced when served cold. When
served warm, it brings creamy and smooth texture with alight acidic aftertaste.
Using non-pesticide Yamada Nishiki rice.
Asahigiku Tokubetsu
Junmai
Light-bodied with dry
finishing. Enjoy a mild, rishness when served warm. Its an easy drinking sake,
suitable for beginners. Well balanced sake using no.7 yeast.

Cocktails
Benten Colada
It’s a dairy free
version of the Pina Colada, experience the texture and flavour as though it has
creaminess with the use of Nigori Sake.
Mori at The Beach
This is a twist on
the Sex on the Beach cocktail using sake. It’s a refreshing cocktail with
beautiful hue like the sakura flower, peach flavoured balanced with little acidity
from the cranberry and lime.
Miruku Mojito
This is milky style
mojito, using Yakult for the creamy texture without curdling. It almost like
mint ice cream accented with sweet aroma from the sugarcane Shochu.
Aoi Hawaiian
A tropical drink that
is perfect for a hot day, using Yakult for a creamy taste without being
cloying. Using sugarcane Shochu is fruiter and more refreshing than the original
rum version.
In collaboration with
Luen Heng F&B Sdn Bhd, a leading supplier of international beer, wine and
spirit brands and led by Ms. Chiharu Yabe, Head of Luen Heng’s Japanese
Division, SO Izakaya presents a premium selection of Sake and Shochu produced
by some of the finest independent boutique Sake Brewers in Japan.
You will have the
opportunity to sample a variety of this popular spirit including Koikawa,
Asahigiku, Komagura and premium Shochu under the name Asahi and Morinokura. For
those who love the crisp bold taste of a freshly tapped Sake, there will also
be Sake on draught.

Beam Suntory also
joins the Japanese march, offering Roku Gin, Haku Vodka, and Chita Whiskey, a
single grain whisky adored for its subtle notes of mint, honey and wood spice -
all from the famed House of Suntory line.

Decked out with
Japanese pop-culture stylings, SO Izakaya complements the variety of drinks,
with a limited-edition Japanese contemporary menu. The tapas styled bar snacks
has been put together to enhance the flavour profiles of Sake and Shochu and
will feature seafood specials both raw and cooked, in proper Japanese fashion.
Have your pick of Robatayaki, Rolls, and even Tempura.
