ALOHA! I’m so glad that
now the restaurants, cafes, theme parks, and some travel spots are slowly open
with the new norm. A few days ago, I had a scrumptious lunch with my friends at Resort Café @ Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa. Yes, they have re-open with
brand new dining experiences and of course according to the government’s SOP guidelines.

The Resort Café at
Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa is now offering “United By Food” on weekdays and
“Tiki-licious Sunday Brunch” on Sundays, a buffet-to-you dining where you place your orders with the service attendant and have it delivered to your table. A wide
selection of cuisines from all around the world will be served amidst a
festive, vibrant and fun Lūʻau-inspired
set-up.

United By Food served
from Mondays to Fridays from 12.00pm to 2.30pm is priced at MYR58 nett per person;
the first 25 diners who walk through the door daily will receive 50% off; Tiki-licious
Sunday Brunch kicks off on 12 July onwards from 11.00am to 3.00pm every Sunday,
priced at MYR88 nett per adult and MYR48 nett per child age 6-12 years old;
Sunway Pals member and selected credit cards will enjoy 20% off.

The Resort Café transformed

where staff will be dressed in Hawaiian and Mexican outfits with Island Music
played in the background throughout the offering. Be prepared for an
entertaining dining experience.

The gastronomic journey
begins with starters, where Caesar Salad with condiments tossed in a large
Cheese Wheel will be pushed around the restaurant on a trolley. A choice of
Chinese Double-boiled soup or Western Soup of the day will also be offered. At
the live action stations, Doodle for Noodles features homemade hand-pulled
noodle ‘La Mian’ or Pasta, the Asian Food Trail offers Steam Dumplings, Chee
Cheong Fun, Steamed Rice with Salted Fish and Chicken and Bamboo Briyani,
Teppanyaki and Maki Rolls are served at the Treasures of the Rising Sun
station, Colours of Life station prepares the Panini with a selection of
fillings and some Mexican snacks including
Nachos and Quesadillas, while the World of Skewers have a variety of
grilled meat including the much-loved Satay, Turkish Kebab, Balinese Satay
Lilit and not forgetting the restaurant’s signature - Churrasco, and lastly is
the Freeze The Moment station of refreshing desserts like Ice Kacang, Chendol,
Tropical Soft Serve and Mocktails.

On Sundays, diners
can enjoy the Tiki-licious Sunday Brunch with more food offerings which
includes meat on skewers, fresh seafood on ice and much more. There will also
be fun kids’ activities like hula dancing, cupcake decorations, face painting
and more, which will be available on a weekly rotation.

Café reopens its door with the assurance of a peace of mind to diners while
creating an enhanced experience through the “Sunway Safe Stay” programme, an
initiative by Sunway Hotels & Resorts set on five pillars of safety and
hygiene, comprising of almost 30 protocols.
Diners are expected
to scan in using the SELangkah app and all tables and chairs will be arranged
according to the government’s SOPs on social distancing guidelines. The lunch
buffet dining experience entails a personalised service with dedicated service
attendants serving each diner directly at their table.

There are Six Live Action Stations, an open-exhibition kitchen
where a la minute cooking is done upon each order. You are allowed to view
the stations and place their orders with the service attendant and have it
delivered to their table or order from the menu placed on their table. At the
end of the meal, cashless payments are excepted for a complete contactless
dining experience.

Besides, you can
choose some fun mocktails from a special drinks menu to complete the lunch
escapade experience. Featuring Babalu Tai, a refreshing concoction of Lemon and
Orange with local Asam Boi to truly give diners the holiday sensation, the
Aloha Sunshine with Cranberry and Lemon Juice topped with Ginger Ale, Tiki
Colada which will bring fond memories of the sun, sea and sand containing
Pineapple Juice and Coconut Cream and lastly the Virgin Samoan Margarita of
icy-cool blended Lime, garnished with cubed Apples and Oranges. Priced at MYR20
nett per glass each, diners also have an option to add on an extra MYR10,
making it into a Cocktail option with an exciting twist.

Overall, it was a
very fun and vibrant dining experience. From the moment we stepped into the
restaurant, the vibes and mood were so uplifting with the beach set-up and also
the varieties of food. Plus, the staff will bring the food right to our table, buffet-to-you style. The “United By Food” buffet on weekdays from 12.00pm
