NPE Highway Run 2019 Experience
Hey! How’s your weekend?
Well this morning I was at NPE Highway Run 2019 for 10KM. There were more than
9,000 runners took part in this very first leg of the IJM Allianz Duo Highway
Challenge 2019 on early Sunday morning. The run took place on the New Pantai
Expressway (NPE) Highway. The flag-off began at 5.30am for the 21KM and 630am
for the 10KM. Sore Today, Strong Tomorrow!

I arrived at the event site quite early, around 5.30am, can you imagine what time I woke up today. When I arrived there were quite a lot of runners coming in and some started to warm-up and get ready for their 10KM.

Oh yes! there were also numerous food and drinks trucks, sponsors booths that have fun activities, and also booths displaying
and selling their respective products.

This round my
running buddies are Betty and Eddy, there are also bloggers. Well it’s always more
fun to run with friends than alone, right. The flag-off podium is actually
directly opposite Sunway Pyramid and yeah! the flagged off was on time at
630am. Let’s run!

Overall, it was a well-organized
run with signboards, medics on standby, water stations, mobile toilets, and
others from the starting point and up to the finishing line. The route was
great with minimal elevation for 10KM and there were nice views
and plus it’s highway road so there was no bumps, no pot-holes, no traffic lights, and its wide.

After the run, the
medal and light refreshments handling were also fast, we don’t have to queue
for all that. There were also some performances and also prizes giving ceremony happening
at the event stage after the run.

The IJM Allianz Duo
Highway Challenge was held in partnership with IJM Corporation Berhad (IJM) and
Allianz Malaysia Berhad as the title sponsors. The second leg will be on 24th
August 2019, which is the first ever night run and relay run organized by the
popular running series. The BESRAYA Highway Challenge has 26KM, 13KM and also
13KM relay run challenge.

Organised by
Besraya (M) Sdn Bhd (BESRAYA) and New Pantai Expressway Sdn Bhd (NPE) Highway under IJM’s Toll Division and
EC Pixels, the organizers took extra measures and precautions to ensure the
safety of the runners by providing a fully closed highway.

I love to join run now! Love to collect their rare medal and shirt . Hahaha! Then We will enjoy the journey while running. It make us healthy and more energize. We can breath a good air
ReplyDeleteWahhh Kelly you are so rajin lah join lari2 mcm nie. 10km pulak tu. I join lari 5km pon dah pancit 🤣 nampak best betul acara larian kali nie sebab buat dekat highway.
ReplyDeleteTak pernah participated dalam run event ni. Bagusnya awak. Aktiviti sihat dan bermanfaat. Boleh uji kemampuan diri kan. Suami saya beriya masuk group running dan belajar kaedah berlari dengan betul. Dia ajak saya, tapi saya tak mau. Haha
ReplyDeletewah, kelly, I dont think I can wake up so early for any of these run. But it's actually nice to keep us moving and healthy..maybe I should get myself started too to gain back fitness.
ReplyDeleteI dah mula rindu dengan run event. Kat penang pun banyak event running jugak. rasa memang best dapat keluarkan peluh. nanti 1 day nak join run event kat kl pulak.
