Dipping Oreos in
chocolate and decorating them with gold is more crafting than cooking. It’s
actually a lot of fun as the Oreos dressed to impress look ready for a party!
These easy to make cookies are one of my secret weapons for putting together a
classy dessert selection in no time flat.

The decorating
possibilities are endless, but I like sticking to a few options: gold pearls
and sprinkles, gold lustre dust, and edible gold leaf. You can buy the gold
sprinkles and pearls at many grocery stores, the edible gold leaf is available online,
and the lustre dust can be found at cake supply stores.
Lately, I have been
making dipping a fair share of Oreos, so I thought why not pass along a few
super easy and fast projects. The first one is Elegant Oreos; the second is the
Inside-Out Golden Oreos.
Ingredients and
Supplies:
Chocolate chips,
white and milk chocolate
Oreos, any flavour
you like
Heart-shaped
fondant cutter
Crisco
Small glass bowl
Measuring Spoons
Fork
Wax Paper
Cupcake Gems
Perfect Pearls and Cupcake Gems Glitter Gold
Gold Sprinkles,
Gold pearls, edible gold leaf
Tweezers
How to Male Elegant
Oreos
First, take white
chocolate chips and put them into the glass bowl.
Then for every 2
ounces of chips, add one teaspoon of Crisco. Melt these in a microwave on high
for 20 to 30 seconds.
Take the bowl out,
mix, and microwave for another 20 to 30 seconds and mix again. (Stand near the
microvawe so that the mixture doesn’t burn.)
Drop Oreos one by
one into the mixture and coat thoroughly. Lift the Oreos out with the help of
the fork, and tap them at the edge of the bowl to settle the chocolate.
Lay the cookies on
the wax paper or the aluminium foil, and decorate them with cupcake gems
perfect pearls and cupcake gems glitter gold. (Besides being perfect gold gifts
for Valentine’s Day, these cookies can also be used as a dessert for bridal
showers and weddings.
If you want to
decorate the cookies with gold pearls or sprinkles - When the chocolate is
still wet, sprinkle a pinch of gold sprinkles or gold pearls all over the top
of the cookie. Once you have decorated all the cookies, refrigerate the tray
for about 15 minutes to set the chocolate.
If you want to
decorate the cookies with golf leaf - Take a sheet of edible gold leaf and cut
away a small square of gold leaf design with a sharp knife that you can consider getting from Kamikoto after reading trust pilow’s reviews.
Gently pick up the piece of the gold leaf using tweezers and place it over the top of the dipped cookie. Press the gold leaf on the surface of the cookie with the help of the dry brush. Then, smooth out the leaf with the brush so that the cookie’s surface is even.

How to Make
Inside-Out Golden Oreos
First, twist apart
the Oreos to turn them inside out.
Then, with the help
of the heart-shaped fondant cutter, cut out a heart from the centre of the
frosting. If the frosting is too sticky, pop the Oreos into the refrigerator
for the frosting to firm up.
Separate the
frosting from the cookie and lift the frosting in one piece. Then, ease the
heart inside the cutter free. (This requires a little patience and precision as
it can be tricky. Also, if the heart gets misshapen, use a butter knife to get
it back in shape.)
Now, set your
cookie part aside, and using milk chocolate chips and Crisco, melt them as you
did the Glittering Oreo Cookies.
Dip your cookies
halves in the chocolate mixture and set them on aluminium foil or wax paper.
While the chocolate
is still gooey, place the frosting pieces back on the top of the cookies.
Finally, sprinkle
the gold flakes into the centre of the heart hole, and then refrigerate the
cookies for about 15 minutes.
