Higher Learning Education Hub media conference. Recently EduCity signed a Tripartite Agreement on Sustainable Renewable Energy with GSPARX Sdn Bhd and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) as part of their inititives to achieve 20% clean energy goal in Malaysia.

This initiative was led by Digital Pulse, a unit under Iskandar Innovations Sdn Bhd (IISB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Iskandar Investment Bhd on behalf Iskandar Education Enterprise Sdn Bhd (IEESB), the operating entity under EduCity.

What is EduCity?
EduCity, is 300-acre fully-integrated education hub that hosts top institutes and universities around the world with first-class facilities and the first of its kind in Asia. EduCity not only groom the next generation of leaders, but most importantly, acts as a feeder of talents to support Iskandar Malaysia’s various economic activities.

EduCity's education partners have equal access to quality shared services and facilities, such as student accommodations, security, recreational and sports facilities.

1. The tripartite agreement period is 25 years.
2. Expected to accumulate RM2.22million of savings with Zero Capital Agreement.
3. The first year expected saving is RM31,354.

4. Two main locations in the education hub for the solar panel installations
- Multivarsity Complex generates 152kWp
- Student Walkway generates 130kWp
- Total 282kWp
5. Annually these two locations will generate 344,816kWh/pa
6. This project is expected to be completed by February 2020
7. Environment Attributes
- offset 220 metric tonnes of CO2
- Greenhouse gas emission avoided by 4032 tree seedlings grown in 10 years or 960,000km distance by an average passager vehicle annually
8. These projects will provide a better and more sustainable experience for the students
9. EduCity will also feature a new student hub that is designed to be the main hive for student’s activities as it is envisioned to be run by the students for the students.
10. Other exciting upgrades that are in the pipeline for the next one year includes a new warm-up pool that will be located at the Aquatic Center (EduCity Sports Complex), a new rugby field and a petrol station.
Well as an eco-advocate, I support these initiatives and believe that if each of does our parts to lead a greener life, we can create a big and positive impact on the environment.

ReplyDeleteLangkah bijak untuk atasi masalah rumah hijau. Malaysia negara sentiasa ada sinaran matahari, memang patut ketengahkan guna kaedah solar untuk penjimatan dan penjagaan alam sekitar. tapi bil letrik sis tetap mahal. Hahaha

ReplyDeleteWahhh this is such a great movement from our education side. Renewable energy is what we need right now to conserve the forest from deforestation. Solar energy is great and suits to our country.
