Step 1: Initial preps

The first step is to have the basics ready: Choose a venue for the party, prepare a guest list, send out the invitations, and decide on your party theme. Unless the Halloween falls on a weekend, you will need to set a date for the party, preferably the weekend before or after Halloween. These basics will give you an idea of how many guests will come and how big a budget you will need. Ensure that you have everything in order at least a month to the party to avoid last minute inconvenience.

Step 2: Prepare foods and drinks

You will need to be creative with your food and ensure that there is enough for everyone. Make a list of the food and drink supplies that you need at least a week to the party. You can even purchase the non-perishable items up front, and then purchase the perishables on the party’s eve. Also, don’t forget to stock up enough dry ice for the drinks.

Which foods will bring out the perfect Halloween mood? Finger foods with creepy body shapes, gross gummy eyeballs, and blood-red punch bowls are a few ideas to get you started. You can also spice things up by making pumpkin cupcakes or cookies shaped like ghosts for dessert. While at it, don’t forget to prepare enough cups and serving dishes.

Step 3: Set the Scene

Installing the right, spectacular halloween decorations are imperative because it helps you set the right mood for the party and accent your preferred theme. For optimal success, create or purchase your decorations at least a fortnight to the party and install them at least two days in advance. If you are unsure of the theme to go with, a spooky haunted house theme would be a great choice.

Which decorations do you need? Fake spiders, ghosts, paper bats, mummies in bandages, candelabra displays, a bag of bones, and gravestones will all be in order. After all, it is perfectly okay to go over the top with your Halloween décor.

Pumpkins and decorative gourds will also bring the right Halloween vibe to the party. Make faces on the gourds using chalkboard paint or write Halloween messages using metallic paint so that it glows under the moonlight. As for the porch lighting, use carved jack-o’-lanterns.

Step 4: Decide who you’re going to be

Choose your Halloween costume at least two weeks in advance and if you have kids, you can set the theme and choose their costumes from Punk Rave gothic clothing as well. If you will be experimenting on a new Halloween make-up, it would be better if you practice it several times in the run-up to the party so that it will be perfect on the D-day. Allow your guests to be creative with their costumes and make-up.

Step 5: The Miscellaneous

Recharge your camera batteries and choose your designated photographer beforehand. If you intend to have spooky music and Halloween movies, have them ready at least a day for the party.

To ensure that you have all of the Halloween necessities, ensure that you review the above checklist every now and again and involve your friends and family members when necessary. Go ahead and have a frightfully fabulous event!
