Angel, a denim donation drive in support of SURI, a Malaysian social enterprise
that empowers single and underprivileged mothers to up-cycled denim into handicraft
products to sell for a living. Project Denim Angels collection period is from 15th March to 30th April, 2019.

Well, instead of
throwing your old denims away, you can donate them from 15th March to 30th
April, 2019 transform and upcycle it to useful items. Project Denim Angel is
initiated by Voir Gallery driven to focus on helping local community, empower
and create sustainable income generating opportunity for them.

Denims don’t
decompose easily. Instead of throwing it away, old denims can be transformed to
useful items when given second chance. Plus also to raise awareness and educate
about upcycle and recycle. Suri Lifestyle is the Beneficiary Social Enterprise
for this project.

| VOIR x SURI: Project Denim Angel |
VOIR aim is to
collect 3,000 kg worth of denims to provide a sustainable inventory for Suri to
do the upcycling and transformation, selling them to have a stream of monthly
income for the mothers. Old, faded, torn, unused denims can be donated to our
collection points across Klang Valley. All denims must be washed before
donation. All types of genuine denims will be accepted for Suri – long pants,
shorts, tops, dresses, jackets, caps etc.

SURI is a social
enterprise that strive to empower single and underprivileged mothers by
providing financial opportunity and living skills of sewing. Currently, they are
helping 10 single mothers based in our local community area in Klang, Selangor.
SURI’s objective is to erase the mindset of charitable offerings to these mothers,
but instead we are geared towards income based plan through employment support
program.
