Super Boring Club, Kuala Lumpur: Korean & Japanese Fusion Cuisine Review

Annyeong x Konichiwa! recently we went to Super Boring Club, Kuala Lumpur or also known as SBC for lunch. Serving exciting fusion cuisine combining Korean barbecue with Japanese izakaya. The restaurant is founded by two Malaysian chefs and it’s tucked in a bustling side of the city located in Jalan Mesui. Well if you think Super Boring Club is boring, wait till you check out their interesting and affordable menu.

The menu is pretty simple apart from the izakayas, BBQ items and combos they also served rice, noodles plus a good selection of sake, shochu, beers, liquors including fancy cocktails. SBC is a pork-free restaurant.

Must Try! and yes I will go back for this refreshing dish. The combination of fresh baby octopus, mushrooms, watermelon with house cool spicy lime sauce. The presentation itself already win my heart, the combination of refreshing, juicy, tangy and slight spicy taste is explosive. Mind you once you start, you finish the whole dish. I can have this dish for lunch and dinner too.

Deep fried lamb comes with green lettuce as wrap, garlic sauce, spicy bean sauce and kimchi. This is perfect done, the deep fried lamb were not tuff or hard as I thought it would. I love the marination, the lamb is crispy on the outside and still tender inside perfect with fresh green lettuce wrap and dipped in chef's house-made sauce, I prefer the spicy bean sauce, so fusion.

This Gyoza with mozzarella is interesting. It has a bit of Aussie feel in it and comes with some greens and house-made spicy beans paste with ginger sauce. Perfect starters or snack for happy hours.

Here comes my favourite Korean BBQ platter. The combo 2 consist of lamb char siew, chicken, squid, wagyu striploin that comes with banchan and green lettuce as wrap.

I like their special lamb char siew marination and the chicken also taste so good. The best way to eat it is wrap the meat with green lettuce and dipped with house-made special sauce that taste so good.

Overall, I like the combination of creative flavours especially their house-made sauces, marination and the freshness plus quality ingredients that the chef use to make sure that every dish is satisfying. As for price wise, the menu is pretty affordable especially the BBQ combo. One of the best place for happy hours with Korean Japanese fusion restaurant in Bukit Bintang. I will certainly go back again soon for their BBQ combos and spicy baby octopus or even their set lunch.
