"It takes a long time for a lot of people to get truly comfortable in their skin and it has taken a lifetime for me yet the journey continues. From choosing the right career path, finding your purpose to how we physically look; how do we get to fulfilment? Can we ever be fulfilled?", said Freda Liu, author of "In Your Skin".

The ideas behind “In Your Skin” were scoured from the many books Freda has read, as well as from watching and learning from the people she has met that can be described as comfortable in their own skin.

Research suggests that approximately 70 percent of people will experience at least one episode of impostor syndrome, a psychological pattern in which an individual doubts their accomplishments and has a persistent internalised fear of being exposed as a "fraud", especially prevalent among women considered to be high-achievers. (Medical News Today, 2011).

“There are many challenges from Impostor’s Syndrome and second guessing of our capabilities to the many roles we have to fulfill. Women especially are held on higher standards and expectations. We need to start embracing the power within us in order to bloom, flourish and magnify the possibilities. I want this book to help people feel empowered and recognise the everyday heroes in themselves," added Freda.
