Hey! Let’s kick start the Chinese New Year vibes with Esquire Kitchen Prosperity Chinese New Year Menu. Recently we had a scrumptious lunch at Esquire Kitchen to savour their auspicious CNY dishes and one of my favourite is the Ong Lai Lai Fish! or pineapple fish is one of my favorite sweet and citrusy crispy deep fried fish. By the way, ‘ong lai lai’ is an auspicious word because it means ‘luck come come’.

Ong Lai Lai Fish is one of my favourite dish, sweet and citrusy with crispy deep fried fish mixed with red and green capsicum cuts. As you know during Chinese New Year fish dish is a must haves and it’s an auspicious dish. The combination of Yin (sweet tangy sauce) and Yang (deep fried fish). A colourful, savoury and fragrant dish that suits many tastebud. Plus “Ong Lai Lai” means “Luck Come Come” a positive and welcoming word for everyone celebrating Lunar New Year.

Another must haves dishes for Chinese families during Chinese New Year is prawn. Because prawn in Chinese is similar to the sound of laughing that symbolizes happiness. So this year Esquire Kitchen prepared Golden Oats Prawns, it’s a combination of deep fried oats with fresh chilies and medium sized prawns are the highlight for this dish. The fragrant and aromatic fried prawns coated with oats and fresh chilies is so addictive.

Overall I like most of their set menu dishes prepared by Esquire Kitchen this year. It taste good but not too over powering and the combination of all the 6 dishes are pleasant and suitable for family and friends reunion. Esquire Kitchen Prosperity Chinese New Year Set Menu consists of 6 auspicious dishes. Priced at RM338nett for 6 to 8 person and RM238nett for 4 to 5 person. Yee Sang also available.
