Upon your arrival in Boston, there are many historic landmarks to visit with exquisite restaurants and shops. Here are some suggestions of some of the things to do and places to visit.

Quincy Market

Try out the vast selection of foods from mouthwatering sandwiches and burgers in the Quincy market after the ride from New York or pass by and carry along some snacks or light lunch to a spot where you will get a better view of the town. A quiet moment at the Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park provides a calm moment to enjoy the splendor of the city. You can also opt to have a meal at the Faneuil Hall Marketplace if you prefer having a meal in an enclosed space. Satisfy your appetite and then proceed to other sites.

The Freedom Trail

On Freedom trail, you can spend some hours on the red-bricked trail which is an estimate of 2.5 miles with a history of Boston and its founders within sixteen sites. The trail is, however quite a stretch and might take a better part of the day, so pinpoint on the areas to focus on, such as the downtown section which would take close to 2 hours only giving you ample time to go to other places. Try the route from Boston Common through Faneuil Hall with the help of a guide from the Freedom Trail Foundation, National Park Service Rangers or using a pamphlet for guiding yourself.

Beacon Hill

The Beacon Hill neighborhood is filled with wonderful architectural house designs dating back in time to the historic times. Stroll along Acorn Street; see the Charles Street Meeting House among other historic buildings and capture some nice pictures. Various restaurants are also situated in Beacon Hill in case you have time for a meal.

The Waterfront

The downtown of Boston provides a great site for watching cruises from Rowes Wharf. You can also opt to take a ferry which is less costly. Another waterfront is located in the Seaport District where you will find the Institute of Contemporary Art which you can visit.

Hanover Street

Coffee lovers can enjoy a cup of espresso and cappuccino in one of the cafes with some fresh pastry at the Caffè dello Sport. However, most coffee shops only open for a while to savor the moment while it lasts.

While there are so many other dazzling places to visit in Boston like the Boston Children’s Museum, aquariums, ships, art galleries and shopping centers, you can still enjoy and have fun in just a day. Give it a try and be open to having the best time.
