Let’s Party! And if
you love dancing, latino music and vibrant live bands this is your place. Over
the weekend we were at the newly opened Cuba Libre Café & Bar at TREC Kuala
Lumpur. It is reminiscent of a typical Havana bar where the ambiance, music and
people make me want to dance and fire the dance floor. So put on your dancing
shoes and show me some moves.
Cuba Libre Café
& Bar was established back in 2006, where the spirit of South America came
to Singapore at Clarke Quay. Legend has it that the Cuba Libre means rum and
cola with a slice of optional lime, was first invented in 1900 in Havana, Cuba.
It is said that it was drank to toast Cuban freedom from Spanish occupation.
Che
Guevara (a hero in the sixties for his radical political stands for the people
of Cuba) profile with the iconic beret and red star can still has a dominating
presence at Cuba Libre.

Cuba Libre Café & Bar Kuala Lumpur
In 2018, they decided to bring the full Latin themed Cuba Libre Café & Bar to the hottest clubbing spot in Kuala Lumpur, TREC KL. Indeed, they showed us how Cubans party by bringing the entertainment team, chef, music, drinks and fun from Cuba.

"My team and I are truly delighted by the opening of Cuba Libre at TREC, Kuala Lumpur. Cuba Libre simply means a concoction of Rum and Cola and we introduced the South American flavours in Singapore in 2006. The Latin flavour oozes vibrancy, togetherness and a beautiful festival. We hope to bring people from all walks of life to Cuba Libre to experience a fun night, filled with music, dance and food, not forgetting our Award-winning cocktail from Singapore, the 'Mojito'." said Puneet Agarwal, Cuba Libre Cafe & Bar Director.
Vibrant Latin
Entertainment, Food & Drinks From Cuba
The live band ADRENALINA
and DJ Fasilito are all the way from Cuba, Columbia and Venezuela bringing us the
best of commercial Latin Salsa, Pop, Jazz, Bachata, Merengue, Reggaeton and
more. So why wait… let’s dance and feel the freedom. If you wish to learn how
to salsa, from Sundays to Thursdays there are Bachata and Salsa workshops from
9-10pm. Do check out Cuba Libre Café & Bar KL Facebook.
Cuba Libre
Signature Mojito
MUST-TRY Cuba Libre
Signature Mojito, the champion of 2009’s Inaugural Bacardi Mojito Fiesta shows
just how the classic tipple should be done. Each mojito is a blend of Mount Gay
dark rum, said to be the world’s oldest rum company; and muddled lime wedges,
brown sugar and mint leaves. A sugarcane stick acts as a garnish. Another
MUST-TRY Mojito Grande Mount Gay Extra Old for extra punch (a slightly fiery
finish with smoky, fruity aromas).
Chef Evelio
Martinez from Cuba
That night, Chef
Evelio Martinez from Cuba also whip up some mouth-watering latin-inspired
dishes such as paella, patacones con ratatouille, quesadillas, finger food and
more to satisfy our cravings. Dinner is available from 7pm onwards. Here are some of the dishes that we had that night.
Paella a la Chorrera @ RM48
Cuban style paella,
cooked with saffron rice, chorizo, smoked pork belly, pork meat, tiger prawns,
green peas and capsicum.
Garbanzos Fritos / Fried Chickpeas @ RM38
Chickpeas cooked with chorizo, smoked pork belly and pork sausages, seasoned with Spanish sweet paprika and cumin to get a full Latin flavour.
Frito de Mar @ RM32
Deep-fried squid ring and tiger prawn flavoured with garlic and rosemary, served with tomato salsa and cheddar cheese sauce.
Patacones Con Ratatouille, RM15
It is a traditional dish from all around the Latin-American countries, made from fried plantain. This version is topped with mixed veggies ratatouille and parmesan cheese - totally a vegetarian dish.
Overall Cuba Libre Café & Bar @ TREC KL is like Havana Club with latino music, entertainment, ambiance, food and drinks. Its a place for those who love dancing, latino music or perhaps learn how to dance while enjoying your food and drinks.
