Gong Xi RIUH Weekend, KL Monthly Curated Creative Platform

Hey! Chinese New Year vibes at the Gong Xi RIUH over the weekend at APW Bangsar. It was awesome, just in time to catch up with some friends before they balik kampung, and also I did my very last minute Chinese New Year shopping. This is my first time to RIUH In The City but will not be the last. RIUH is a monthly creative platform that hosts an array of artisanal and designer pop-up stores, food stalls, creative workshops, showcases and live acts; only one weekend, each month. Guess what?? I bought a handmade cheongsam, some herbal teas and other knick-knacks.

Because Chinese New Year is round the corner, so this round of RIUH In The City theme was “Gong Xi RIUH” at its usual venue, APW Bangsar, located at Jalan Riong on the 10^th and 11^th of February from 10am till 9pm.

About 20 food vendors at Gong Xi RIUH | RIUH In The City @ APW Bangsar, Jalan Riong 

At RIUH In The City you can find homegrown brands and talents including a festive showcase in conjunction with the lunar celebrations. Not only that, there were also lions and dragons dance, calligraphy, thrilling drum and mask changing performance, a classic Chinese instrumental act, traditional dance, exciting performance by Aseana Percussion Unit and various creative workshops too.

The whole weekend was memang RIUH! There were 40 pop up stores to shop from with brands such as Bengkel.Co, APOM, Fugeelah, Istimewa, Kritajna, Seniman, Thinkabelle and many more. The best part of RIUH is always the food, among the tantalising treats on offer for the weekend will be provided by Chilli Pang Pang, Kasi Melts, Mom’s BBQ KL, Yoohoo Hot Dogs, The Chekodok Guys and Yellow Whisk.

I tell you… all the vendors memang awesome punya, the food also very artsy and special that you can’t easy find elsewhere. Rugi kalau tak datang!

I bought my handmade batik cheongsam from cotton & sago at a very good price, can’t believe it. I love the material and it’s very comfortable too. And I also bought a box of Chinese Herbal Tea, and some knick-knacks and of course tried their food.
