My team
member, Aunty Lilly, Choi Yen and me had a great time experiencing the latest
addition to Oasis Swiss Sdn Bhd’s Chefology range of cookware, Chefology Nature
series comprising a collection of 5 cookware items designed for comfort
cooking.

At the
same time, we also created two recipes Cheesy Black Pepper Chicken Salad, and Basil
Crepes with Caramelized Bananas during the cook-off using McCormick herbs and
spices to showcase the quality and versatility of McCormick products that are
distributed in Malaysia by GBA Corporation Sdn Bhd.

Before
the cook-off begins Chef Collin Edward Lim showed the how easy and versatile to
use Chefology Nature Cookware and McCormick Herbs & Spices to whipped up 3
dishes such as Braised Short Ribs, Cheesy Black Pepper Chicken Salad, and Basil
Crepes with Caramelized Bananas.

Here are
McCormick Sauce, Herbs and Spices, Sea Salt Grinder and Peppercorn Grinder that
we used during our cook-off. McCormicks Sea Salt Grinder and McCormicks
Peppercorn Grinder are adjustable grinders equipped with three different grind
setting; fine, medium and coarse. With just a simple movement of the dial, we
can personalize the coarseness of the salt and pepper from the grinder to suit
our meal for a tastier journey. Sea Salt is rich with minerals.

McCormick Grill Mates BBQ Sauce add authentic Amarican barbecue flavour to any recipe. A bottle of McCormick spice rub is incorporated into BBQ Sauce which makes it thick, flavourful and excellent as a sauce, dipping, marinade and glaze. We used the Vintage Smokehouse to marinade our chicken and also added some into our salad dressing. This range of BBQ Sauce is available in three flavours such as Vintage Smokehouse, Brown Sugar and Chilli and Pepper.

We
managed with complete our Cheesy Black Pepper Chicken Salad and Basil Crepes
with Caramelized Bananas within the time given plus the garnishing. We improvised
both recipes to suit our taste and also creativity.

Basil Crepes with
Caramelized Bananas
Cheesy Black Pepper Chicken Salad Recipe |
Cheesy
Black Pepper Chicken Salad
Serves
2-3
Preparation
time: 25 minutes
Cooking
time: 7 minutes
1 tbsp
McCormick Black Peppercorn Grinder
1 tbsp
McCormick Sea Salt Grinder
400 g
chicken breast
1 tbsp
oil
2 heads Romaine
Lettuce, torn into bite-sized pieces
80 g
Iceberg lettuce, torn into bite-sized pieces
30 g
cherry tomatoes, halved
50 g
yellow capsicum, sliced
50 g red
capsicum, sliced
A
handful of red chard salad leaves
A
handful mix of cheddar and mozzarella cheese
Dressing
1 tsp
McCormick Black Peppercorn Grinder
½ tsp
McCormick Hot Chilli Powder
6 tbsp
plain yogurt
Method
1. Marinate
the chicken breast with McCormick Black Peppercorn Grinder and set aside for 10
minutes.
2. Heat
up oil in a Chefology Nature Series Frying Pan and pan fry the chicken breast
on both sides for a few minutes. Remove from heat. In the same Chefology Nature
Series Frying Pan, sprinkle cheese over the chicken then bake in preheated oven
on 180oC for 7-10 minutes. Set aside.
3. In a
bowl, add in all the vegetables.
4. Combine
the dressing ingredients and toss together with the vegetables.
5. Slice
the chicken and toss into salad.
Chef’s
tip: The romaine lettuce and iceberg lettuce may be replaced with any
combination of salad greens.
Basil Crepes with Caramelized Bananas Recipe |
Basil
Crepes with Caramelized Bananas
Serves 3
Preparation
time: 15 minutes
Cooking
time: 20 minutes
½ tsp
McCormick Sea Salt Grinder
1 tsp
McCormick Basil Leaves
200 g
plain flour, sifted
80 g
sugar
4 eggs,
lightly beaten
400 ml
milk
30 g
butter, melted
Caramelized
Bananas
20 g
butter
150 g
brown sugar
6
bananas, halved
40 g
raisins
Method
1. To
make the crepes, combine the dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl. Add in
the remaining ingredients and mix well. Set aside for 10 minutes.
2. Heat
up Chefology Nature Series Frying Pan and rub some oil onto it by using a piece
of kitchen towel. Spoon a ladle of mixture onto the pan and cook on medium heat
until the underside of the crepe is golden. Flip the crepe over and cook for a
further minute. Remove the crepe and repeat with the remaining batter until
used up. Set crepes aside.
3. To
make the caramelized bananas, heat up Chefology Nature Series Frying Pan to
melt butter and sugar together. Toss in bananas and raisins. Set aside.
4. To
assemble, place 2 bananas and some raisins onto a piece of crepe. Fold into
half and half again. Repeat with the remaining crepes and bananas.
5. Serve
warm with whipped cream (optional).
Chef’s
tip: You may replace bananas with fresh berries.

Overall,
I had fun and also a great experience cooking with Aunty Lilly and Choi Yen
though we did not win the cooking competition. Indeed the Chefology Nature
cookware really easy to use, non-stick we don’t use any oil for at all. The
McCormick spices and herbs, sea salt and peppercorn grinder and bbq sause makes
all the dishes taste so good and versatile.
