In the nutshell, BREAKOUT is a team real escape gaming experience consisting various theme rooms with a capacity of 2 to 8 players per game room. There are a total 12 unique thematic game rooms in BREAKOUT available and we only choose 1 game room for each game session.

What I really fascinated about this game is that each game room is designed to have its own storyline, character, mindboggling puzzle, tasks and stratagems to be completed within 45 minutes. The players will be locked in each game room and they will start with different scenarios such as being handcuffed, trapped or even caged based on the storyline.

Cool! Now are we ready to breakout? There were total 10 of us, so we split into 2 teams of 4 and 6 people each team. BREAKOUT Avenue K got 5 rooms to choose from namely Mr Oswald’s Greatest Show, The Greatest Murder of Westwood, Celebrum, Chamber of Hocus and Project Fallout.

So my team decided to go for the Celebrum room and each of us got a character to play, therefore we have to try to think like that character to solve the puzzle.

Let’s breakout, we were trapped in the separate rooms during the 45 minutes we got to use our wits, skills and yes teamwork is very important to solve the puzzles using the clues and hint given. There are 2 BREAKOUT in Malaysia, at Avenue K and NU Sentral Mall.

The setup of the room makes me feel like I’m in that situation, it’s so real. The lighting, background music, the designs, obstacles and puzzles make my brain start to tick and work.

Overall, BREAKOUT was an eye-opener game for me, it’s not only fun but at the same time makes us think, workout my observation skills and think out of the box. I find that this game actually instill our analytical thinking, strategizing skills among the team members, time management, decision making and most important of all is teamwork. Most of the clues are there, we have to be very observant and play the character well to BREAKOUT.
