Dual Yellow & Spectra Q-Switched Laser Treatment Experience and Review

Sometimes skincare itself may not be enough to have that flawless and radiant skin. With the advancement of technology nowadays there are more and more facial treatments that can help us to achieve that. Few weeks ago, I tried the Dual Yellow and Spectra Q-Switched Laser Treatment at Anna Hoo Clinic. Here are some of my experiences and sharing after my treatment.

When I mentioned about laser treatments, some of you might have that the perceptions that this kind of treatment is only for severe skin problems, it’s risky and concerns about the downtime. Before I proceed with any laser treatment I usually do my research and know what am I going into. 

There are many types of laser treatments out there and each has its own functions and benefits. During my first consultation and appointment at Anna Hoo Clinic, I had my skin analysis. After my skin analysis and consultation I only discovered actually I got so many skin concerns / problems such as dull and uneven skin tone, pigmentations on the cheeks, wrinkles on the side on the outer eyes, laugh lines and dehydrated skin. If I did not start treating it now these skin concerns might becoming worst for example the pigmentation could becoming more bigger or more will prevailed.

In order to target all my skin concerns I did 2 types of treatment which is the Dual Yellow and Spectra Q-Switched Laser Treatment. Each laser treatment will treat different types of skin concerns. Every visit I only do 1 type of treatment then I have a gap of 2 weeks before the next treatment. 

The Dual Yellow laser treatment is mainly for skin rejuvenation, vascular lesions occur when the small capillaries in our skin become dilated. When grouped together, they can give the appearance of red spots, or sometimes large stains (port wine). When spread out, they are visible as threads. Contrary to popular myth, the capillaries are not broken. The Spectra Q-Switched laser treatment is targeting at our pigmentations, dark spots and melasma.

1. No downtime

Immediately after the treatment there are some red spots, after the soothing and hydrating mask my skin is back to normal. I can put on my makeup and go back to work or events as usual. No downtime and minimal side effect are important to us especially for those who has to work and could not afford to take so many off days.

2. Fast procedure

The Dual Yellow Laser Treatment takes me about 30minutes per session excluding consultation, skin analysis and . The laser treatment is about 10 to 15 minutes maximum and another 20 minutes is for the soothing mask and serum.

However, Spectra Q-Switched Laser Treatment might need a longer time, like 1 hour with numb cream. Before the treatment, the nurse will apply the numb cream on the treatment areas and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes. Then wipe away the numb cream and get ready for the laser treatment that takes about 10 to 15 minutes. After that are the soothing mask and serum.

3. Minimum pain

Both Dual Yellow & Spectra Q-Switched Laser treatments are bearable. I did the Dual Yellow treatment without numb cream. I only feel the heat sensation on certain areas which are more sensitive. As for the Spectra Q-Switched I had my numb cream and there are slight prickling plus some redness after the treatment because this treatment is targeting on pigmentations and melasma.

4. Pigmentations becomes lighter and smaller

After my 1^st Spectra Q-Switched Laser treatment, immediately I can see my pigmentations on the upper side of my right cheek became lighter.  Then after the 2^nd treatments those small dark spots (pigmentations) becoming less, and the bigger spots became smaller. If your concerns is pigmentation you should try the Q-Switched Laser Treatment.

5. Skin Rejuvenation

The Dual Yellow treatment is best for skin rejuvenation, anti-aging and vascular lesions. It also can reduce acne, bulky-lesion, scars and stretch-marks. As for me, immediately after my Dual Yellow treatment I can see that my skin is more radiant, fresh and glowing.

This laser treatment helps to generate collagen, the essential protein for giving our skin elasticity. This happens because yellow light affects the collagen in a way that promotes regrowth; it also reduces pigmentation. So your skin will appear lightened, and more youthful. After a week, the effect became more visible, I can feel that my cheeks are firmer and the fine lines around my eyes are less visible and some diminish after the 2^nd treatment.

6. Skin Brightening

The combination of both Dual Yellow and Spectra Q-Switched laser treatments definitely enhance my skin radiance. After 2 weeks my skin tone became more even and brighter.

7. Smoother skin texture

Immediately after the treatment, when I touch my skin I feel that it’s so smooth and soft like baby skin, as if all the dead skin cells are gone.

8. Post Laser Skincare

After every treatment, I got these special skincare for home usage. It helps to boost the treatment efficacy and also recovery. After using this serum and cream my skin became smoother, moist and no redness at all on the next day.

How many treatments are required?

Well one treatment itself is not enough for you to see the visible results. Is best you consult with your clinician for a treatment plan. Just after one treatment, you will notice your skin feels fresher and is lighter, but typically several treatments are required.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the results of the Dual Yellow & Spectra Q-Switched Laser Treatment at Anna Hoo Clinic. My skin improvements are gradual, there is no side effect, no downtime and it’s easy to maintain. I just need to avoid direct sun exposure especially the afternoon sun and make sure I apply enough sunblock every day.

Usually the effectiveness will be more obvious after 1 week of the treatment. My skin tone is now more even, radiant and glowing. Skin texture is smoother with less wrinkles and lines.
