1. Indulge your taste bud

There are total of 14 F&B restaurants and bars on board so we are free to dine what we desire according to our taste bud from Asian, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Western and International cuisines or selected Michelin-starred dishes. There is no restriction on how many times we can dine per day, for example if I wake up late and decide to go for brunch and then dinner that’s fine. Or on certain days I feel like having snacks and healthy drinks I head over to the Blue Lagoon.

The first night we had Teppanyaki and Sashimi at Samurai Restaurant. Then the next day we went for the scrumptious dim sum buffet at Genting Palace. One of the nights, we had 6-course dinner at the Noble House serving the fine Chinese cuisine including abalone, ginseng, and many more.

All in all I lost count of how many meals I had onboard, I think tried almost all of the restaurants except the Taj and Palazzo. After indulging in all these heaving meals of course, I went for my workout also.

2. Enjoy the mesmerizing shows and Entertainment

One of the things we enjoyed were the shows and entertainment onboard. So every day I will check out the Star Navigator, it’s the daily newsletter that informed us about what and where are the activities for the whole day; such as the shows, parties, movies, live bands, group exercise, performances and many more plus the promotions also.

We had a few rounds of shows at Lido Theater, of all the shows I love The Memory Lane on the last night. It’s spectacular, the singers and acrobats were very engaging.

For Gala Cocktail Party and Dinner on board the last nigth

On the last night we had Gala Cocktail Party and Dinner at the Pavilion Restaurant and the followed by the Grand Farewell Party at the High Sea with the Hotel Management and SuperStar Virgo Crew at the Grand Piazza. Ending the night on a high notes.

For those who love spa, massage, facial this is a mini heaven on board. The Apollo Spa and Oscar’s Hair & Beauty Salon opens from 12noon to 1am. For me the best time for aromatherapy massage is before going to bed then walk back to my room and sleep dead hehehe.

Gym and exercise classes available on board

Try not to skip my exercise routine when I travel, it’s a habit. I am glad that there were gym and classes every day from Zumba to Yoga and combat classes. There are steam and sauna room, jacuzzi also plus swimming pools at Panthenon Pool.

Oh yes! there were also many classes that we can participate such as sushi making, K-pop makeup class, art and craft class and many more.

4. Pick and choose your Shore Excursions

Great! we can also use the credits to pay for the shore excursions. There are a few options for us to choose. We visited new She Kou Cruise Centre, had lunch at She Kou Taizi Bay for lunch then to Sea World for coffee and sight-seeing.

Back to the high sea, continue our journey to Vietnam. We stopped over at Ho Chi Minh City and did the city tour thingy. Visited the Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office, Ben Thanh Market, Dong Koi Street and had the panoramic view of Saigon from the 49^th Floor Bitexco Finacial Tower. Ended the day with Saigon River Cruise and dinner.

The Shore Excursion that really excites me was the day trip to Nha Trang. It was my first time to Nha Trang, I kind of like the peace town with sea, temples and fresh seafood.

Cham Po Nagar Temples 

That day we went to the Long Son Pagoda mind you there were about 200 steps to climb up to the white pagoda; Cham Po Nagar Temples is one of the place I wish to go back; Hon Chong Promontory with rocky beach and fine view of the mountainous coastline of north Nha Trang. I think there are many more places to explore in Nha Trang, wish to go back again.

Oh yes! we can also use the credits to buy thing at the Duty Free Shop onboard. There are quite a wide range of products to suits everyone need and desires such as luxury watches, jewelries, luggage, designer bags, handbags, cosmetics, souvenirs, local delicacies and many more. Tips: do check out or pay attention to cruise special announcements, sometime there is special deal or discounts on certain days and hours.

There are many facilities onboard such as library where we can do our work there, read, rest and borrow book.

Overall it was a very relaxing, enjoyable and easy going trip; I had a lot of time to explore the cruise and relax. On certain days when we were on high seas I slept until 11am woke up had brunch, read my books, go for spa, watch movies, go to gym, shows, swim, sauna, jacuzzi, play games and etc. Just eat, sleep and enjoy.

Do you want to know the difference between cruise verses land holiday? For me when I was on cruise holiday, I actually rest more, spent time for myself and take thing slowly to enjoy the facilities. Year end is such a perfect timing to review what I did in 2016 and start setting my 2017 resolutions. Compared to land holiday I am always on the move, walking, shopping, do so many things and etc. It can be quite tiring thou, am I right?
