Prevention is better than cure! Love your heart and health. I believe that heart health care should start early and don’t wait until it’s too late. Exercise Regularly

1. Physical Activity
You don’t have to be a pro in sport to achieve this, all you need is a regular exercise every day. It could be walking, running, workout, yoga, dancing, swimming or any workout that you enjoy. Usually I go for a quick run in the morning or after work then during the weekend I will participate in running events or yoga classes. It is more fun to exercise together with family and friends so do encourage them to join you too.

2. Medical Check-up
Well, even if you don’t have any heart issues or major sickness, it’s important to get your yearly heart health and medical check-ups with your doctor. This will give you a peace of mind and early detection can save life.

Eat Balanced Diet and Moderately

3. Balanced Diet
Always remember you are what you eat. I know there are many temptations out there. You can have your cheat day once a while but most of the days eat a balanced diet. Try to fill half your plate with vegetables and fruits, consume milk with added plant sterols to block the absorption of cholesterol into the bloodstream.

As mentioned earlier, besides the 3 factors of holistic health management we can also manage our cholesterol levels by adding plant sterols to our diet. Plant sterols are considered to be the most effective single food that can lower cholesterol as part of a healthy diet and lifestyle.

Plant sterols can be found in minimal amounts in grains, vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts and seeds but you may have to consume very large amounts in order to meet the daily requirement of 1.2g of plant sterols in order to have an effect on your cholesterol level.
