My craving for spicy ramen satisfied! As you know I love spicy
food and that include ramen as well. I tried the new Karaka-Men which come in 3
levels of spiciness, guess which level I go for? By the way, that day we also
tried a good selection of Ippudo Malaysia 2016 Grand Menu @ Ippudo Gardens Mall.

When you think of Ippudo the first thing that comes to your mind
is their ramen right but then, Ippudo also serves a delectable selections of appetizer,
side dishes and desserts. Let’s eat!
Peperon Edamame, RM9 |
Peperon Edamame, RM9
We started the evening with Peperon Edamame, its blanched edamame
tossed in dried chilli, 7 japanese spices and olive oil. It’s quite flavourful and
the level of spiciness is moderate and tolerable by majority. The Peperon
Edamame is great to go with a chill beer.
Hakata Hitokuchi Nigiri, RM14 (for 4 pcs) |
Hakata Hitokuchi Nigiri, RM14 (for 4 pcs)
This is a hand roll served with sliced omelet and sliced basil topped
with char siew sauce and mentaiko. After tasting the Peperon Edamame, this Hakata
Hitokuchi Nigiri becomes slightly bland. The rice is soft and I get the hint of
mentaiko if can add a bit if kick then it will be great.
Soft Shell Crab Bun, RM10 |
Soft Shell Crab Bun, RM10
I don’t mind another serving of this, the Soft Shell Crab Bun is a
must try. I love crab so this is awesome, the size of the soft shell crab is quite
big and its fresh.
Soft Shell Crab Bun |
Look at the juicy deep fried soft shell crab flesh sandwiched
between the fluffy steamed bun with bit of teriyaki sauce and mayonnaise.
Ippudo Takoyaki, RM14 |
Ippudo Takoyaki, RM14
This classic Japanese favourite octopus dumplings served with
takoyaki sauce is moderate.
Salmon Foil Yaki, RM20 |
Salmon Foil Yaki, RM20
This is steamed salmon head with assorted vegetables and chill
padi in vinegary ponzu sauce. It’s spicy and sourish.
Karaka-Men, RM27.90 |
Karaka-Men, RM27.90
Ippudo Spicy Ramen is one of my favourite. This Karaka-Men is Ippudo
original tonkotsu broth served with special spicy miso, cashew nuts and ground
pork with 3 level of spiciness to choose from. We started with level 1, the
spiciness is moderate and can be accepted by majority. Then I decided to try the
level 3 to see how spicy it can be. Well I still can tolerate level 3, yes its
spicy at the same time its more flavourful as well because of the spicy miso
paste. After that my body starts to become hot and sweating.
Ice Cream Bun, RM12.90 |
Ice Cream Bun, RM12.90
After all the spicy stuff I need this cold ice cream bun to cool
down. This is a combination of vanilla and green tea ice cream served with deep
fried buns. As you know Ippudo’s buns are really soft inside and crispy outside.
Eat with vanilla ice cream is soothing. The green tea ice cream I eat it on its
own and don’t forget the strawberry as well.
Overall I had a decent dining experience that evening. Their services
are great and place are pleasant too. I like the spicy Karaka-Men and the Soft
Shell Crab Bun. These new menu will be available starting 11th July 2016 onwards. All the prices listed are inclusive of GST and is subjected to
service charge.
