Recently me and my bestie went to one of the best Japanese Fine
Dining Restaurants in Kuala Lumpur to satisfy our craving. We had the freshest
sashimi ever and my craving for Hokkkaido Uni satisfied. Well, ISHIN Japanese
Dining situated along the main road of Old Klang Road. It is a fine dining
Japanese restaurant that serves genuine Japanese and Kaiseki style cuisines that
are cooked to order. According to the Chef, they use fresh ingredients imported
from Japan's famous Tsukiji market and the finest ingredients of the season.

We started our dinner with this Chef Recommendation Special
Sashimi, splendid! This is by far one of the freshest sashimi I tried in Kuala
Lumpur. We take our time to savour the freshly air flown aji, kampachi, shima
aji, hirame, botan ebi, live hotate, kampachi belly and my favorite Hokkaido
uni dipped in the fresh grind wasabi and soya sauce. Every cut and bite is
perfect, one of the best sashimi combination.
Dry Tomato with Nanohana, Sakura Ebi served in Wasabi Dressing, RM32nett |
Dry Tomato with Nanohana, Sakura Ebi served in Wasabi Dressing,
RM32nett
The whole combination of dry tomato with nanohana, sakura ebi
served in wasabi dressing aroused our appetite aroused. Nanohana is a kind of spring
vegetables, small and juicy. The wasabi dressing gives the kick but not over
powering while the sakura ebi brings out the fragrant and flavours of this dish.
Ayu Shioyaki, RM58nett |
Ayu Shioyaki, RM58nett
Ayu or also called as sweetfish because of the sweetness of its
flesh. This is one if my favourite fish. Grilled Ayu with salt brings out the
fresh grill fish aroma. I can smell it when the waitress is bringing this dish
over to our table. When you have fresh seafood the best way is to cook it is
the simplest way so that we can taste the natural sweetness and juiciness of
the seafood. Same as this! I can even finish the whole Ayu Shioyaki myself.
Ayu Nitsuke, RM68nett |
Ayu Nitsuke, RM68nett
This is another version of cooking, Ayu Nitsuke is simmered sweetfish
with sauce. Eat it when it served warm, the sauce is light and added flavours
to the Ayu fish. For me I still prefer the Ayu Shioyaki.
Sakura Cold Soba, RM38nett |
Sakura Cold Soba, RM38nett
This is one of the ISHIN signature Sakura Cold Soba which you
should try. The soba in light pinkish color and it comes with dry seaweeds. The
sauce comes with fresh squid egg, wasabi and spring onions.

Mixed the squid
egg, wasabi and spring onions in the sauce and take some sakura soba, dipped in
the sauce and enjoy. The taste is very pleasant, light and mild. I like the
special sakura soba and its imported from Japan.
Kagoshima Wagyu Saikoro Steak with Nanohana, RM280nett |
Kagoshima Wagyu Saikoro Steak with Nanohana, RM280nett
According to my bestie by far this is the best Wagyu Steak that
she had tried in the Japanese Restaurants in Malaysia. Its grilled to
perfection, tender and juicy. Every Kagoshima Wagyu Saikoro Steak melts in her
mouth.
Hokkaido Uni Sujiko Sushi, RM90nett for 3 pieces |
Hokkaido Uni Sujiko Sushi, RM90 for 3 pieces
Yes! this is for me the fresh and luxe ever Hokkaido Uni Shujiko
Sushi. Look at the slabs of Hokkaido Uni, just can’t wait to pop it in my mouth
and savor the combination. You might think that RM90 for 3 pieces of sushi
might be on the high side, wait till you had your fine sashimi and sushi in
Japan then you will know the price and it will change your perception.
Sakura Ice Cream, RM25 per scoop |
Sakura Ice Cream, RM25 per scoop
Lastly we ended our scrumptious meal with Sakura Ice Cream. It has
a hint of sakura scent. The ice cream texture is smooth and soft and it’s not too
sweet, very soothing, pleasant and not heavy.
