Here at Syomirizwa Gupta New Showroom, Malaysia’s most sought-after luxury fashion brand, now has a space that is synonymous to its legacy. From the luxurious evening dresses to exquisite bridal gowns, this showroom provides a dynamic yet intimate setting of stunning visual impact; an amphitheatre where his creations are at the core. The space is a mixture of modern interior with a hint of 70’s raw exuberance. Its dominant colours of grey, black and gold are chosen as backdrops.

Upon entering the spacious compound of the showroom, clients are greeted by a brick wall proudly emblazoned with the brand name, Syomirizwa Gupta. Once inside, the first view is a vibrant turquoise hallway with a reception counter, reflecting the designer’s favourite colour, which is often used in his collections.

Syomirizwa Gupta: The Showroom is located at 282, Lorong Maarof, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, the 3,200-sqft bungalow is handpicked by Creative Director, Syomir Izwa for its 70’s retro architecture infused with minimalist precision – a perfect fit for Syomirizwa Gupta’s art and heritage inspired collections.

Up the stairs on the right and through the white curtains is the private consultation room. Its concept is a fusion of 1930’s Art Deco and classic lines to create the ambience of a private living room. The space also displays his breath-taking collection of bridal gowns, proudly hung on gold rails, set against simple black walls.

Legendary Malaysian singer Dato’ Sheila Majid, who is also an avid fan of the designer’s creation officiated the showroom’s launch. During the opening ceremony, there were sneak preview of Syomirizwa Gupta Cruise 2016 RTW Collection, which is inspired by visionary painter and style icon Frida Kahlo. Set to be released in July, the vivid collection pays homage to Kahlo’s brilliant use of tropical colours that represent her colourful native country, Mexico.

Transcending conventional rules and guidelines, every piece embraces the art of expressionism – evident in Kahlo’s works – by balancing classic styles with bold colours and play of prints. A truly versatile line, it is perfect for a relaxed mix-and-match layering style. The Ready-to-Wear line will be available for pre-order in June.
