SK-II GenOptics Aura Essence & Spot Essence

Well I did my Magic Ring 4 weeks before I started to use the SK-II GenOptics Aura Essence & Spot Essence. This time we focused more about the ‘Skin Clouds’. SK-II has upgraded its Magic Ring program with a ‘Cloud Meter’ to show signs of UV damage including visible spots and even hidden clouds. Before I started using my SK-II GenOptics Aura Essence & Spot Essence, my overall Magic Ring result is 69% and my Cloud Meter brightness reading was 83.

The ‘Cloud Areas’ measure accumulated UV induced damage on the skin while ‘aura areas’ measure the brightness of the skin. The detection of grayish and reddish clouds represents dark and dull skin tone. Therefore the bigger the ‘cloud area,’ the less radiant skin is, the bigger the ‘aura area,’ the brighter the skin is.

Three factors contributing to ‘Skin Clouds’ are brownish clouds representing hidden spots, grayish clouds representing “wide-spread” melanin (dark skin tone /pigmentation) and reddish clouds representing “increased hemoglobin” (dull skin tone).

Each time when we use is only 1 full drop for each application. The texture is milky essence with moderate thickness. I like the mild relaxing scent and give a supple moist finishing in the skin.

SK-II’s GenOptics Aura Essence containing an infusion of Prunus extract and Pitera™, in addition to active whitening ingredient, D-melano P3C™ to tackle spots and skin clouds before they surface.  The GenOptics Aura Essence replaces Cellumination Aura Essence.

The SK-II GenOptics Spot Essence comes in a similar bottle and dropper like GenOptics Aura Essence. The texture is also milky white essence but without any scent. The GenOptics Spot Essence with the new formula Spot Resist Complex contains a new ingredient Lumina Kelp Extract. The new GenOptics Spot Essence replaces Whitening Power Spots Specialist.  

After cleansing, toning, apply the facial treatment essence then I apply the GenOptics Spot Essence using tapping motion on the targeted area dark spots areas only. After that, follow by the GenOptics Aura Essence and moisturizer. Kindly take note that, only GenOptics Spot Essence on the dark spots areas not the whole face because it might be too drying for your skin. I only use it at night.

Here is my Magic Ring test after using SK-II GenOptics Aura Essence & Spot Essence for more than 3 weeks. Well after using the SK-II GenOptics Aura Essence & Spot Essence my overall skin analysis total score remains 69% and my skin brightness Cloud Meter from 83 to 74. Both test was done under the same condition, with my makeup is on.

Perhaps my extensive travelling and too many outdoor activities compared to before, that caused my skin to developed more dark spots. I was in Phuket for a short getaway and Cambodia for a work. I actually spent a lot of time outdoor under the blazing sun during my trips plus the running activities.

Overall I like the texture, feel and scent. I don’t have any breakout or allergy using the GenOptics Aura Essence & Spot Essence. To be honest, I don’t really feel that my skin is getting obviously darker. But the Cloud Meter tells the truth that my hidden spots are getting more due to my current activities. It’s hinting me to do something before it’s too late. If this is not taken care off soon all the hidden spots will appear on my skin, oh no.

However I am will try another round and check my Magic Ring test result again. Perhaps I should stay away from direct, no sun bathing, less outdoor activities during mid-day, more facial or step-up on my skincare regime. Well, I am going for my skin consultation again and this round I will use the SK-II GenOptics Aura Essence twice a day instead of once.

Visible signs: yellower skin, more visible spots, rougher texture, less radiance, and darker tone.
