Here is another options how you can celebrate your Christmas and
New Year. Instead of the usual Christmas dinner you might want to have a bit of
twist, perhaps Japanese food. I just tried the Jolly Kaiseki Set Dinner with 6-course of delicate and delicious Japanese dishes @ Hana Dining + Sake Bar at Sunway Pyramid.

Jolly Kaiseki - 6 Course Set Dinner
Kari Kari ni yaita tara to satsumaimo no kasane & Ikakyuri |
Kari Kari ni yaita tara to satsumaimo no kasane is the crispy cod fish layered with sweet potato. At one look it’s like dim sum, the different is that its layered with sweet potato. It’s a hot mouth-watering.
Ikakyuri |
Ikakyuri is the squid stuffed with preserved cucumber. This
appetizer is served chill with fresh squid, minced crab meat and crunchy
cucumber. The taste is light and refreshing.
Shirako Sakamushi |
Fresh oyster with salmon belly sashimi |
Fresh oyster with salmon belly sashimi. This is my favourite dish
among all. I love sashimi, it’s just so fresh and juicy. It will be perfect
with sake.
Tofu chizukeki & goma aisukurimu |
Papaya Motoyaki is baked papaya with seafood and mushroom. The
combination of sweetness from the papaya, savoury seafood and mushroom is quite
unique and smooth.
Kaiso boletus pasta & kuruma ebi |
Kaiso boletus pasta & kuruma ebi to kani misoyaki are seaweed
boletus pasta and grilled king prawn with crab paste. This is the main the
pasta portion is moderate. The flavourful and grilled to perfection kind prawn
is perfect. I am full after this dish.
Tofu chizukeki & goma aisukurimu |
Tofu chizukeki & goma aisukurimu are the tofu cheese cake with
homemade white sesame ice cream. The smooth, soft and light cheese cake it’s just
lovely to end the dinner. This is the first time I tried the white sesame ice
cream, usually is the black sesame. White sesame is fragrant with the burn
smell and is more friendly perhaps not so ugly when it’s stuck in between our
teeth.
Overall I love the freshness of the seafood served and most of the
dishes taste are light. If the seafood is fresh then the best way to enjoy it
it’s either sashimi or cooked it light. The less seasoning and sauce the better
it is. If you are looking for a healthy Japanese dinner at a cozy restaurant with your love ones during this festive season then you might want to consider this Jolly Kaiseki.

The dishes are definitely interesting, not your usual Japanese food! I'm so curious, especially with that squid stuffed cucumber.
ReplyDeleteI like their presentation of the food. Their food also looks so tasty.
ReplyDeleteThese should dishes should make Christmas and New Year's Day extra exciting. Everything looks delicious, especially the Kaiso Boletus Pasta & Kuruma Ebi.
ReplyDeletethe pasta with ebi looks so nice! what does kaiseki means? is it omakase?
ReplyDeleteMmmm... everything looks so mouthwatering. They're so meticulously prepared.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful presentations. However, maybe it would be better if people did not know that they are eating cod sperm. It sort of sounds disgusting if you think about it. Haha!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks delicious, I'd surely love to have a taste of these soon. it's already christmas soon. i should schedule an eat out hehe
ReplyDeleteI really love Japanese food! But I think all the food you posted are something new to me. Haven't tried it yet but I hope to try them out soon as well.
