Dreams Come True for the Children at Toy Bank, A Gift of Love @ Cheras Leisure Mall

Heyo! still remember my previous post about the Toy Bank charity campaign. Thanks to many kind hearted and generous shoppers that donated the toys and also household items to these children. It was a fun and happy outing for us and the children during the Toy Bank, A Gift of Love presentation ceremony at Cheras Leisure Mall. The joy and smiles as their faces are priceless and it could be the best Christmas ever for these children. Christmas dreams come true for more than 400 children from 13 children’s homes and charity houses.

Dreams Come True for the Children at Toy Bank, A Gift of Love @ Cheras Leisure Mall 

Well, the event started early in the morning whereby the children were treated to special screening of Legend of a Kung Fu Rabbit: The Martial of Fire at Golden Screen Cinemas. I joined the children for the movies as well I enjoyed the comedy anime as well. 

Christmas caroling and dance performances

After the movie, we went to the concourse and the event kicked start with dance performance by Passion Danz Studio then followed by buffet lunch for all and caroling and dance performances plus Hoverboard dance workshop.

165 children from the participating children’s homes were invited to have a memorable Christmas celebration at Cheras Leisure Mall and received the gifts sent by anonymous true love at the gift presentation ceremony on the 5^th day of Christmas.

The giant Toy Bank was set up at the Ground Floor Concourse since 4^th December 2015 to collect gifts of love for the children from participating children’s homes and charity houses. The shopper will pick a card from the wishing tree, select a toy or gift from child’s wish list and then deposit the gift together with the wish card at the Toy Bank.

“Toy Bank, A Gift of Love programme is a community initiative to connect people to areas of need in society. Since its inception in 1999, Toy Bank A Gift of Love programme has become an anticipated event for the shoppers to express their care and concern for the undersprivileged children” according to Ms Eva Hew, Assistant General Manager, Marketing and Promotion (Retail), Property Division, PPB Group Berhad.

Throughout the programme period from 4^th till 27^th December the mall managed to collect around 2,700 gifts. The participating children’s home and charity houses of this year’s Toy Bank, A Gift of Love programme includes Shepherd’s Centre Foundation, Trinity Community Children’s Home, Persatuan Kebajikan Warga Tua Dan Kanak-Kanak WP, Pusat Jagaan Beribuan Kasih Kajang, Bodhi Homecare Cheras, San Pedro Orphanage Home, Rumah Sayangan, Rumah Kanak-Kanak Angels, Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Connerstone, Yayasan Sunbeams Home, Rainbow Home, Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheera dan Pusat Majudiri Y for the Deaf.
