Ola! I was at the Weekend Scouting at Markets by Jaya One on the eve
of Mid-Autumn festival. Well despite of the long holiday of Hari Raya Haji and hazy
Saturday afternoon surprisingly there were quite good crowd at the bazaar. Glad
that most of the booths are indoor except the food stalls and trucks.
Well I have blogged about this Markets 16 by Jaya One at The School prior to the event and glad that I managed to make it because my Japan trip was postponed to later date. I love to scouting and hunt for bargain and vintage stuff. At the bazaar I found some very unique accessories, clothes and also handicraft. As you know fashion change so fast so some of the clothes I get from
bazaar at a really good price and I don’t mind if I wear it only for a few
times or for certain occasion only.
As I walked towards the bazaar there were tempting food smell luring me to their stalls. I tried the curry mee and also bought a few cupcakes back home. There were so cute and so hard to resist.
Food trucks @ Markets 16 by Jaya One |
Apart from the stalls there were food trucks selling hot food, burgers, smoothies and etc. So many food choices and fun eating. Oh ya! Halloween is coming so I was hoping to get some accessories and clothes for the costume party but unfortunately they don’t that many choices or stuff for halloween.

Some tips for you when you were at the bazaar you must not be in the hurry. Wear something comfortable clothes and shoes because you are going to walk a lot. It's better to wear 2 piece in case you would like to try some tops or bottoms. Try to go earlier if you want to get good stuff, remember early birds get the worms.
First take a walk through, check out and take photos of the overall booths. Then the second round you check out the particular booths or items that you have set your eyes earlier. Some of the clothes were really good bargain, selling for RM20 per piece or some tops were only RM10 and they look decent. OMG closed two eyes and buy.
Cable Trouble |
I found Cable Trouble colourful cable wrap and tie very useful and unique. Its simple but does help to tidy up my messy workstation with all the cable tangling and laying around. Bought some for myself and my colleagues.
DocLab Ampoule |
Got my samples from DocLab, the latest skincare brand originated from Korea specializing in face ampoules at Markets 16. Can't wait to try them, will do it this weekend.
Josh Lee Fragrances |
Have you heard of the local perfumer Josh Lee? Yes his booth at the Markets 16 too. There are few types of fragrances featured such as the Heritage Through Scent, OUD by Josh Lee edp and Nyonya by Josh Lee.
Ryan Tan performing at Markets 16 by Jaya One |
Well after walking for so long I took a rest at the stage area and indulged in the soulful voice of Ryan Tan. Plus there were many entertainment going on throughout the 2 days shopping events at Markets 16 by Jaya One.
Hey perhaps should have more family activities or simple games. Instead of giving the samples away, it would be fun if there are 1 or 2 games stalls like throw the balls in the net or rings. Everyone will win something just matter big or small. Usually the girls will urged their boyfriends to win it for them, hahaha...
Met Aliza and Arisa at the Markets |
Overall I had a good time that day; bought 2 dresses for less than RM50, a blouse for RM20 and also managed to get some useful cable wrap and ties. This round I don't buy any accessories or bags. Wow look at all that goodie. Looks like a great variety to pick from.
ReplyDeleteI love weekend markets and bazaars! There's so much to see and taste! It's always a fun-filled day for me when I get to go to one of these!
ReplyDeleteThe clothes you got are really cheap, I also love a good bargain so a market like this would be nice to go to. Also, I really think they should put the games you suggested, so the guys don't get bored when their girlfriends/wives go shopping. :))
ReplyDeleteSo you have a good time at the bazaar.. Just asking how many clothes have you bought?
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a very good event. I think the place looked very organized, with a lot of side activities to enjoy. Good that they had a singer to entertain the crowd too.
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be a lot of wonderful dresses and good deals here. Glad you were able to find several dresses at reasonable prices for you.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that red skirt on the girl in one of your photos. I hope you will show us how you use those cable ties. They look like broken rubber bands to me.
ReplyDeleteJapan was postponed for a great purpose then. :D You look like you had lots of fun. Can I have Ryan's shoes? lol
ReplyDeleteI love the weekend market as they offers really good deals sometime that too with some personal touch. Handmade stuff looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWow such a neat place to have a bazaar. There's so many stuff to buy that look really interesting :)

ReplyDeleteWhoaahahaha.. This could destroy my budget when travelling simply because of the dresses.
ReplyDeleteShopping at a bazaar is my thing. Affordable and some event give proceeds to charity
ReplyDeleteYour colourful shirt is pretty and cheerful! But will it go better if it's with a skirt instead of pants? Just wondering!
