Dah makan? Jom makan! That are the common words we hear very
often. I can’t deny that we, Malaysians love to eat and proud our food,
including myself. Every weekend we don’t mind driving a distance to hunt for
the food that we desired. But sometimes I ran out of ideas what to eat and have
difficulties finding the places or wanted to explore new area for food but not
sure which restaurants are good. Do you face the same situation as well? Where
to Eat in Klang Valley? My Experience Using OpenSnap the
Photo Dining Guide.
It is so common that before we eat our camera or smartphone must
eat first, right? I do the same too. After putting so much efforts and skills
taking great food photos of course we want to share it with our friends, right?
OpenSnap the Photo Dining Guide
|
Ok, recently I saw my foodie friends using this app called OpenSnap it’s photo dining guide which can guide us to find the best place to eat
in Klang Valley and other states in Malaysia too. She uses the app to upload
her food photos and the app is also her personal food photo album as well. Then
she shared it with friends using the app.
So I decided to download the app and start using it, actually
OpenSnap app is developed my OpenRice the main website to find restaurants on-the-go
the fastest way without typing. The app helps us to search faster by
categorizing it by district, landmark and cuisine.
Let’s start… I can personalize my regular locations or check out
the locations that I hardly explore. This app its cool, see am connected with
my friends, I am going to check out which restaurant my foodie friends has
visited, their ratings and bookmarked
plus the restaurant location maps and price range with just a few clicks on my
smartphone.
I feel more convinced with the recommendations and ratings from
the friends that I know well that they are serious about their food. Yuhuu… I
am checking out the reliable places to eat via my friends profile and also
their bookmark places.
OpenSnap also allows us to personalize our bookmarks. There are so
many restaurants and food that I wanted to try, mean time I will bookmark my favourite
topics, offers, restaurants and photos and check out my with my foodie friends
in this app if we have common interests perhaps we can plan to go together. The
more the merrier, we can try more dishes.
Google
Map guide to the restaurant
|
As some of you might know that I am bad with road direction, I
lost my way easily that is why those places that I am not familiar I will
either car pool with friends, take cab or avoid going. Thanks to OpenSnap app
once I click on the restaurant I can get all the information, location, full
address, price range and it link to the Google
Map view to guide me there.
Friend's Tab & Location Map Nearby
|
Check out my Friend Tab and see what they think and rate the
restaurant that I keen to try out. At the same time, I can know the food that I
should order or avoid based from here in OpenSnap App.
Alternative, when I am out of idea what to eat or suggest I can
also rely on OpenSnap to showcase the restaurant nearby that time. That makes
life much more easier plus the map can lead me to the restaurant that I have
chosen.
Did you know that I can view the latest food photo feed in major
cities across Malaysia and also the region. This app is so Syiok now I also
want to know where to hunt for good food in Ludhiana, India.
OpenSnap is available on iOS and Android platform go to Apple
Store or Google Play Store and download “OpenSnap” if you are using Windows
Phone or Blackberry sorry to inform you that this app not compatible with you
devices at the moment.
Overall I find that the OpenSnap app is user friendly, fast and
fit. For people on the go like us don’t have much time to search and read the
details of each review. All I need is reliable recommendations and ratings with
the restaurants basic details and location map that can guide me there.
What I've learned by reading this post, I can now conclude what Malaysians, Thais and Filipinos have in common - we love food! Surely this app you are talking about here is helpful. I hope I'll have afirst hand experience dining in a genuine Malysian restaurant soon.
ReplyDeleteI think we have an app here in Manila that works just the same as Opensnap, I just forgot the name. It's very convenient to use specially when you find yourself in unfamiliar places and don't know where to grab a bite to eat.
ReplyDeleteThis is so nice. I love food apps that feature a lot of restaurants and also show anything that's nearby.
ReplyDeleteOpenSnap app, seems a good one to try but I don't think we have that in our country. For foodie lovers like you, this app definitely comes in handy.
ReplyDeleteYou know how they say that social media have destroyed our life because people can't seem to get their noses away from the screen? Well, I've always believed that if people just know how to properly use them, then it can be the best way for us to connect and explore the world; making the world smaller, agree? Just like this app. It can help us explore the places and get experiences we never planned.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite feature has to be the part where you can check out your friend's recommended dining spots! At least then you can figure out where she took those pretty food photos she posted on Instagram.
ReplyDeleteIt does seem easier to find great food here and you can also unique those hole in a wall dining spot. This is a really great app.
ReplyDeleteThese restaurant apps should really be helpful in choosing where to dine for family and friends get-togethers. It is really essential though for the restaurants to keep their menu and prices updated.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried this app, but it should be useful to all the foodies out there as it can help them to choose and make the decision.
ReplyDeleteYey, I also use the OpenSnap app when trying to find new restaurants to try out when in an area that I am not that familiar with. It really is very helpful and fun to take photos then post it straight online. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in need of a serious foodtrip with friends! I hope we also have this in Manila locations! :D
ReplyDeleteI downloaded opensnap before but didn't use it now. It doesn't really helpful, my own opinion only.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the whole running out of things to eat statement. Sometimes it's tiring to even anticipate what you're going to serve for the family. Opensnap seems like a good application. Will try to check it out.
ReplyDeleteFood looks really gorgeous and this app is really of a great help to use. I will give a try next time while ordering the food.
ReplyDeleteI use this app too! User contributed apps are such a lifesaver
ReplyDeleteThis app sounds really cool! I will have to check it out!
