I was in Melaka with friends for a short getaway over the weekend.
This time we stayed at the new Estadia By Hatten Hotel, a new stay in the UNESCO Heritage City. During our stay in Melaka we tried the Peranakan cuisine, went to
Jonker Street night market and experienced the Nyonya Memoirs live environmental
theatre.
Estadia by Hatten location is very strategic and in the middle of Melaka City. You can access to most of the tourist spots and also shopping malls within walking distance. I like it's Peranakan (Baba Nyonya) boutique and home-style hotel which has 196 rooms, well suited for the intrepid traveller, families on
holiday or for business stopovers.
Estadia Deluxe room |
Here is our Estadia Deluxe room with a touch of the Peranakan decor, comfortable and spacious. The hotel consists of 5 types of rooms, such as Estadia Deluxe, Suite, Deluxe Suite, Family Suite and Premier Suite.
Makan Nyonya |
That evening we were treated a scrumptious Peranakan dinner at Makan Nyonya Restaurant. The Peranakan cuisine is the famous and must try food when you visit Melaka, well some of the dishes are spicy. The Makan Nyonya Restaurant also serves local specialities from a-la-carte, set meals and buffet.
Signature Mango Mix, Nyonya Ikan Bilis, Fish Maw with Chicken Meatball Soup |
The dinner started with a drink, the Signature Mango Mix fresh fruit juice with sour plum. The we had the crunchy and additive tidbits Nyonya Ikan Bilis while we chatted. I love the warm hearty clear soup, its Fish Maw with Chicken Meatball Soup. The desserts is the famous Nyonya Cendol with thick gula Melaka.
Nyonya Fish Head Curry, Spicy Chicken Tomato, Sambal Bendi, Sambal Petai Prawn |
As the main course are the flavourful Nyonya Fish Head Curry, Spicy Chicken Tomato, Sambal Bendi is one of my all time favourite and the Sambal Petai Prawn. All these dishes are delicious and appetizing with the Yellow Rice.
Baba Lounge |
After dinner we had relaxing time at the Baba Lounge, chat and took some photos before going out to Jonker Walk night market.
We girls had a memorable trip in Melaka and thanks to Estadia by Hatten for hosting us. The rooms, facilities and services are tip top. Wish to visit Melaka again to explore more interesting places and food. Well, next I am going to share about my experience at the Nyonya Memoirs the first Live Environmental Theatre in Malaysia.
