Recently I found my all-time favourite food in Klang
Valley. Yes!!! the cheerful looking Uncle Peoh that sells Asam Laksa in Penang Ayer
Itam Market in now in Klang. If you crave for a bowl of hot, sour and spicy authentic
Penang Asam Laksa you can now go to Angcle Peoh @ Bandar Bukit Tinggi, Klang.
Angcle Peoh @ Bandar Bukit Tinggi, Klang |
Angcle Peoh Restaurant started when Uncle Peoh’s daughter got married
and moved to Subang to set up her asam laksa stall at Asia Café, SS15. From a
humble stall her business grew then she decided to open her first restaurant in
Klang and brought her father down to Selangor. Upon opening her new restaurant and a central kitchen nearby their
restaurant, she also incorporated other signature Penang dishes into their menu.
So let’s eat and here are some of the Penang Hawker delights that we tried on
that day.
Fried Kuay Teow (Duck Egg), RM8.90 |
Fried Kuay Teow with Duck Egg
The fragrant of wok heat fried kuay teow and duck egg with large
prawns and cockles and generous bean sprouts. With duck egg it taste better than the normal chicken egg.
Pork Noodle Soup, RM6.90 |
Pork Noodle Soup
Simple clear pork broth kuay teow, this is suitable for those who don’t
take spicy food.
Asam Laksa, RM6.90 |
Asam Laksa
Their signature and must try. Generous mashed fish meat, vegetables
and I love the spicy and sour fishy soup.
Prawn Mee, RM6.90 |
Prawn Mee
The sweetness of chilli prawn soup with generous of pork slices, prawns and also boiled egg. In Penang we called this Hokkien Mee but in Klang Valley is called Har Min (Prawn Mee).
Curry Mee, RM6.90 |
Curry Mee
It comes with sambal sotong, large cockles, fishballs, toufu pok,
fu chok and bean sprouts. Penang Curry Mee soup is lighter and comes with the
fragrant flavourful sambal sotong. Slurppp…
Rojak, RM6.00 |
Rojak
I can’t say no to Penang Rojak, the fresh fruits with sweet sauce and
peanut.
Chendol, RM5.00 |
Winter Melon with Sea Coconut Basil Seed (Cold), RM4.90
Okinawa Brown Sugar Ginger Tea (Hot), RM4.50

Overall Angcle Peoh restaurant sells Penang Hawker fare, I love their
Asam Laksa and Fried Kuay Teow with duck egg. The rest of the food selections
are good too. The restaurant décor is simple and spacious. The service is fast
and food portion is moderate.
