When mentioned about diptyque the first thing that pop up in my
mind is their scented candles, I love all of them. The art of perfume and the
art of living have always been as one at diptyque. Well, diptyque has five
ways, five rituals, five decorative objects have been designed for the home fragrance
collection; each has its role and purpose.
The iconic candles, for which the first fragrances were created in
1963; scented wax ovals that can be discreetly slipped into a walk-in dressing
room; room sprays with an instant effect; a patented hourglass with intimate
diffusion properties; or an electric diffuser with perfuming capabilities suited
to a large area; all precious rituals to enchant our daily life.
Un Air de diptyque |
Un Air de diptyque, RM2,045 & refills RM179
This is an innovative electric diffuser and portable object that runs
autonomously for 4 hours. This is a decorative object with an elegant design, it
offers a contemporary approach to the art of home fragrance. This innovative
and useful object diffuses just the right amount of the chosen perfume. 1 capsule
is for 40 hours of diffusion.
The perfumer Olivier
Pescheux has worked with diptyque to create two new fragrances - ginger and
orange blossom flower. Fleur d’oranger
a citrus freshness mingles with the bright Mediterranean, reviving memories of
childhood aromas.
Did you know that diptyque is now the ONLY house to offer the
unique and patented COLD DIFFUSION system, which produces the most faithful
fragrances.
diptyque Hourglass |
diptyque Hourglass, RM585 & refills RM215
The hourglass is an alliance of tradition and innovation. One
action is enough to release the fragrance (20-minute cycle). The patent for the
unique cold diffusion system is held by diptyque. There are no buttons or
mechanisms. Its simplicity, the quintessence of refinement, is appealing to
men. Designed for the privacy of an office or a library, plus it can also be
placed on a bedside table.
The new fragrances for the electric diffuser and the Hourglass are
ginger and orange blossom flower. Gingembre - the initial purity of freshly cut
ginger envelops the senses completely, so much so that in the distance, the
figure of The Lover or the emerald paddy fields of The Sea Wall can be made
out.
Range of diptyque fragrances
The collection for diffusers features a
range of fragrances which now includes 34, BAIES, FIGUIER, AMBRE, GINGEMBRE,
FLEUR D’ORANGER AND ROSES (new for 2015).
Tip to optimize the diffusion of the perfume
Position the
Hourglass in a place with natural air movement – by a window, fireplace or radiator
– that is open to the room.
diptyque Scented Candles |
diptyque Scented Candles, 70g @ RM169; 190g @ RM245; 300g @ RM390; Indoor
or Outdoor 1.5kg candles @ RM1260
Scented candles are diptyque the product of exclusive expertise. Since the first candles Aubépine, Thé, and Cannelle, in 1963, the House has been cultivating its very own technique, that of striking the full glass on a pillow to release the block of wax.
Tip for scented candles
When the candle has burned down, wipe the inside of the glass with
a cloth soaked in soapy water.
When the wax deposits have been removed, leave the glass to dry
naturally. Then use it for whatever purpose you like: a single flower vase,
brush pot, tea light holder, etc.
Scent combinations to be burned simultaneously
Feu de Bois + Baies - the comfort of a spicy cup of tea on a
winter evening
Figuier + Maquis – the scent of Mediterranean coast
Opopanax + Myrrhe – delights of Eastern fragrances
Verveine + Gardenia - a stroll through an English garden
diptyque Scented Ovals |
diptyque Scented Ovals, RM235
The scented ovals are definitely the most original, most unusual
and most irresistible of all the scented objects designed by diptyque. Intended
for use in small spaces, the ovals love to be hung up inside a walk-in-wardrobe
snuggled up against clean laundry. They can be slipped into a suitcase or suit
hanger when you store your clothes for the next season.
Did you know that, the oval, inspired by the precious medallions
of the 18th century, is a testament to the taste of the House’s founders for
Greco-Roman architecture. Its origins can also be traced to the “Pretorian”
pattern in furniture fabric created by diptyque when it started out.
Tips for scented ovals - at the end of the oval’s lifespan (around
3 months), unclip the perfumed wax from its porcelain medallion. Use it as a
tie holder, napkin ring, photograph frame or for a fresh take on a Christmas
decoration.
diptyque Room Sprays |
diptyque Room Sprays, RM259
The spray creates an immediate perfumed atmosphere in a room, with
an olfactory signature of its own. Formulated as an eau de toilette for the
home, the spray elegantly and instantly enhances a room, leaving the desired intensity
of fragrance floating in the air. The ethereal charm it exudes can also be used
on curtains, fabric wall coverings and cushions. Each room can have a perfumed
mood.
Living room - Ambre or Feu de Bois
Bathrooms - Verveine or Feuille de Lavande
Bedroom or walk-in wardrobe - Jasmin or Roses
Bespoke Rituals for the Home
The ultimate refinement
Combine the deliciously ethereal effects of the spray with the
candle, whose scents are only released after half an hour of burning. Create a
unique ambiance by combining woody fragrances with spicy or floral scents.
Prolong the perfumed effect
Compose an original and long-lasting olfactory atmosphere by
combining the diffuser which perfumes large rooms instantly without a
persistent effect, and a candle with the same scent or a complementary scent.
Send the scents on a journey
Share the intimate scented pleasure of the Hourglass by using it
with a candle so that the fragrances are diffused more generously throughout
the room.
The art of wax
Take care of your candles and enhance them using a series of
sophisticated accessories designed for the home. Holders made of blown glass,
of perforated brass or porcelain, bases, candle snuffers and wick trimmers
combine to make up the precious ritual of the art of wax.
I have not heard of this brand before. Interesting about those scented candles. We do not really buy these items for our house though. I guess this is more of an acquired taste for scents.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of the brand before but I think it will be a great start to know about it now... Scented candles looks very beautiful!~
ReplyDeleteI have not heard of this brand before, but their candles are so pretty. I bet the scents are amazing, too.
ReplyDeleteFirst time to heard about this brand and seems they offer nice products. I am looking at the diptyque Hourglass, wish I could have it .
ReplyDeleteThese kind of products are only seen in big spas or tea shops in my area. It's not something we would use at home but there was one time we tried them, the house surroundings did feel a little lighter. I'm not familiar with the brand but when I decide to buy another to try at home, I hope to remember this so I can check/try it out. :)
ReplyDeleteMy Mom's kind of big on scented candles at home. She has a dual purpose for them - for room fragrance and as a sort of home decor too. There has not been a scented candle brand that stood out here in my country so Imma check out the shops to see if we have Diptyque here & will try it out.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about you, but I realise the candles don't really have smell when they are burning. At least for mine... But the smell is strong when they are not burning!
ReplyDeleteAnd the candles burn leaving the wax unburn by the side.
There are lots of scented candles nowadays and sweet smelling oil for fragrance. The ritual is just a psychological ways for the fragrance to last longer.
ReplyDeleteThis got me so interested in scented candles!! I think they make all the difference in setting the mood ;D
ReplyDeleteI love candles and have them in almost every room of the house. I love the design of these, they would totally enhance any room.
ReplyDeleteIs this a new brand ? I love the candles and it smells heavenly specially when it is raining outside you burn them and fragrance is all over the home.
ReplyDeleteI like Diptyque's hourglass style in fleur d oranger. I bet the scents can help me fight stress after work
ReplyDeleteIt's the first time I've heard of Diptyque, I'm allergic to perfumes and colognes or anything scented unless they're 100% organic and natural. We only have fresh live flowers to liven up our rooms with their floral and bright scents. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the different packaging they have for their perfumes and scented candles. It looks really unique plus I'm sure it has a nice scent.
ReplyDeleteYour post made me think about lavender and tea tree scented candles. Having one inside the house is very relaxing and a good conversation starter.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how cheap or expensive they were. Don't have an idea how much it is in our currency but it's really interesting. I've just heard of this scent brand now.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of diptyque candles but i have not tried it nor smelled it. I am curious. Many love how it smells.
ReplyDeleteI place scent sticks in the bathroom at home. Thanks for the tips on where to place them for best effect :)
ReplyDeleteI find gardenia to smell nice already on its own, so i was surprised that it should be burned together with verveine. Anyhoo, the electric diffuser looks and functions great too!
ReplyDeleteNever heard of this brand before but their range of fragrances sounds interesting. Thank you for sharing your review :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to get my hands on the Un Air de diptyque. It looks so classy and chic!
ReplyDeleteI used to be one of those people who doesn't really understand the beauty of scented candles. But now, I've grown to love them! Been addicted to burning scented candles when I have the chance. Anyway, this is the first time I came across the Diptyque brand, but I'll try to get my hands on some from this collection. :)
