Chinese New Year Celebrations Dinner For Senior Citizen & Children

GCH Retail shared Chinese New Year joy with about 50 senior citizen and children from two welfare homes at Concorde Hotel Shah Alam, Selangor. The celebration, complete with a lion dance and acrobatic performance, is GCH Retail’s way of giving back to the community by providing caring, moral and financial support to the less fortunate.

After dinner, the senior citizens from Seri Setia Old Folks Home and the children from Ti-Ratana Welfare Society, received “ang  pow” blessings from GCH Retail. They were also treated to a special performance by GCH Retail’s “musical troupe”.

To support the efforts of the two charity organisations, GCH Retail donated RM5,000 to each home to help defray their operating costs.

GCH Retail’s Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Tim Ashdown, presented the cheques to Ms  Casey Khoo, the Public Relations Manager of Ti-Ratana Welfare Society’s and Mr Ong Hooi Eng, the Administrator of Rumah Orang Tua Seri Setia Sg Way.

In addition, GCH Retail has been a partner of MyKasih Foundation’s food aid programme since 2009 as well as our Giant Love My School programme supporting schools in need of aid.

The Ti-Ratana Welfare Society was set up on 9th February 1994 under the Registrar of Societies Act by the Chief High Priest Most Ven. Datuk K Sri Dhammaratana Nayaka Maha Thera. The Society is home for 150 children and 100 senior citizens at its centre in Sri Petaling.
