During the Lakmé Make Up Masterclass, Geraldine Loy demonstrated three looks first, a posh and bare sultry look called ‘Skin is In’ emphasizing on dewy skin, a sweet but sexy look called ‘Sweet Siren’ with emphasis on flirtatious eyes and luscious lips and a  youthful look that accentuates the eyes called ‘Young Diva’. The make-up philosophy behind each look is minimalism with a bold pop of colour to bring instant attention to one’s best features. Less is more.

Skin is In Face Contouring Makeup

This is a perfect look for those who want to look office-chic and professional at the same time. Firstly, the skin is prepped with the Lakmé CC Cream. The fun starts here, as our Malaysian top make up guru Geraldine Loy starts to share her face contouring techniques.

 Lakmé Absolute Mattreal Mousse, RM68.90

She introduces Lakmé Absolute Mattreal Mousse and expertly sweeps the light but high performance foundation across the model’s cheeks, nose, chin and forehead. She subsequently picks a darker shade to initiate contouring below the cheekbones, jawline and hair line to enhance the geometry of the model’s face. The trick is to layer and slowly blend across the face to minimize mistakes.

Next, a light eyeshadow, using the Lakmé Drama Stylist Shadow Duos is applied as a light base to the eyes. Then followed by a smooth and dark-as-midnight kohl, a 3-year consecutive winner (2011-2013) of Best Kohl Pencil in Vogue Beauty Awards, India. The eyes are finished off by the Lakmé Absolute Fluttering Secrets Dramatic Mascara. As the name suggests, the lashes are instantly lengthened and volumized, making the eyes look more smouldering and alluring. The Lakmé Absolute Gloss Addict in Coral Lustre shade glides effortlessly across the lips, revealing soft and glossy lips.

This make up combination is a perfect weekend hangout look – look arresting and chilled at the same time. After Lakmé CC Cream, Geraldine Loy applies the Lakme 9 to 5 Flawless Make Up Liquid Foundation. This really manages to merge a great coverage look with a weightless to wear feel. Followed by 9-5 Flawless Matte Complexion Compact.

Next, the eyeshadow, using the Lakmé Drama Stylist Shadow Duos Lime Time. Geraldine now applies the smooth shade over the eye lids and on the inner upper crease of the model’s eye. You can also intensify the color in the outer crease of your eye for a smoky effect. This sheer and subtle champagne-white color brightens up the eyes.

Then, Geraldine adds Lakmé Eyeconic Kajal White near the eyelash line to add more light to the eyelids. This trick helps to open the eyes. It is further accentuated with the Lakmé Absolute Precision Eye Liner that when combined with the Lakmé Eyeconic Kajal White, brings out the dimension in the eyes, without the eyes looking too overdone. Final touch on the eyes uses the Lakmé Eyeconic Mascara to give a naturally full lash look.

The sweet innocent look is juxtaposed with the Lakmé Absolute Gloss Stylist in Burgundy Burn shade. This hot colour invigorates the clean shades on face and eyes, drawing attention to luscious lips.

Young Diva Look

This look is perfect for those who love a touch of youthful glamour and especially for those who want to play up the drama on their eyes. Skin is prepped with the Lakmé CC Cream. Apply Lakmé Absolute Crème Compact across the face in upward strokes for a more long-lasting coverage and also lifts the skin. It has incredible coverage and delicate texture. Once in contact with the skin, it smoothens out into a powdery texture so that the skin feels light and breathable.

Next, a light eyeshadow, the much sought-after Lakmé 9 to 5 Eye Quartet in Desert Rose shade is smoothed out across the eyelids. The four colour palette eyeshadow has beautiful shades of chic pink, ruby and gold for a touch of glamour.

Then, the eyes are lined with our bestseller Lakmé Eyeconic Kajal and Lakmé Absolute Fluttering Secrets Volumizing Mascara. Wearing Mascara opens up the eye and brings focus to it. A surefire way to apply it, blink down onto the brush head, so it gets really close to the lash line, and then wiggle it to the ends of your lashes. This technique really coats them from root to tip. The Lakmé Absolute Gloss Addict in Orange Candy shade adds the finishing touch on the lips to complete the ‘Young Diva ’ look. 

Overall, Lakme cosmetics are good for everyday use especially for the office lady. The product varieties and colour choices are moderate however most of it is suitable for Asian skin. I like their new Absolute Gloss Addict lip colour. The colors is intense, moist and very shining.
