Review: Aveda Botanical Therapy @ Min & Shunji Matsuo Hair Studio

Well due to the humidity and hot weather in Malaysia, most of the time I try to hide myself in air-cond room. That makes my skin dry and dehydrated, not only that my hair and scalp suffer too. I have dry hair ends and two months ago I started to have dandruff, not sure it’s due to the weather, diet, stress or could be the wrong haircare products that I used. So I went to Min & Shunji Matsuo Hair Studio at Desa Sri Hartamas to try out the Aveda Botanical Hair Therapy.

I was greeted by Ms Park (Korean), she is one of the partner of Min & Shunji Matsuo Hair Studio. This hair studio was established more than 5 years ago and now they has 2 outlets one in Bangsar Jalan Telawi and the other one in Desa Sri Hartamas. Min & Shunji Matsuo Hair Studio is one of Aveda Hair Salon in Malaysia.

Hair Analysis & Consultation by Ms Park

Before I start my treatment, Ms Park go through with me their services, hair analysis and consultation. She checked my hair and found out that I have some dandruff, hair loss and dry end problems. Their botanical therapy is separate into hair treatment and scalp treatment.

So that day I did the Moisturizing Treatment for my Hair and Balancing Treatment for my scalp that can balance my scalp moisture level and improves the scalp dryness and flakiness.

Botanical Therapy is Aveda’s signature salon treatment that treats hair and scalp imbalances like mine. All their hair products is natural and the whole treatment is very relaxing. Started with a functional blend of aroma-therapeutic essential oils delivered through relaxing scalp massage, coupled with potent plant actives that help repair damaged and dry hair, comprise this treatment to transform hair, scalp and state of mind.

We have to go for scalp treatment if possible every alternate month because beautiful healthy hair begins with a balanced scalp. I did Scalp Balance Treatment using these products.

Scalp Remedy Conditioning Concentrate is an aroma-therapeutic essential oil blend with cedarwood, patchouli and vetiver for dry scalp conditions, bringing Infinity/Air Natures back to balance.

Scalp Remedy Soothing Concentrate is an aroma-therapeutic essential oil blend with lavender, blue chamomile and rose for red and irritated scalp conditions, bringing Fire Natures back to balance.

Scalp Remedy Purifying Concentrate is an aroma-therapeutic essential oil blend with rosemary, tea tree and orange for oily scalp conditions, bringing Water/Earth Natures back to balance.

As for hair I did the Moisturizing Treatment using the Aveda Dry Remedy Penetrating Moisture is a professional-strength hair treatment with buriti and pomegranate oils that deeply penetrate to moisturize dry, brittle hair, leaving it silky and full of shine. Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturizing Treatment Masque may be layered for added moisturizing.

Aveda Hand Relief Cream & Aveda Blue Oil

Besides the hair and scalp therapy, they also gave me shoulder and head massage using the Aveda Blue Oil and also hand massage using Aveda Hand Relief Cream for professional use only not for retail sale.

Before & After Aveda Botanical Hair Therapy

I spent almost 2 hours in Min Shunji Matsuo Hair Studio to completed the 2 treatments and styling including consultation. Immediately after the treatment my head feels lighter, there is no more itch on my scalp anymore. Hair has more volume, bounce and shine. Overall my hair looks healthier.
