It was sizzling
night at Malaysia International Gourmet Festival and its spectacular preview, Taste
MIGF 2014 kicked off with a scorching Gala Launch as this year’s Red Hot Chefs at
Sunway Convention Centre, Selangor on last Friday, 26th Sept
2014. It was a yearly affair that I would not missed with good food, good
companions and beaming entertainment.
Taste
MIGF 2014 welcoming all the banqueters, gourmets, gourmands, epicureans, bon
vivants, foodies, carnivores, herbivores and all lovers of fine food with a
night of endless gourmet food, beverages, desserts, entertainment and also
shopping at the Epicure Gourmet Village.
Theatre of Cuisines |
The Theatre of Cuisines filled to the brim
with stunning 28 participating restaurant booths in this year’s festival,
teemed with invitees eagerly sampling the lush fare on offer.
It’s global indeed as fare from the four corners of the Earth were well represented, from Sri Lankan to Cantonese, Modern French to Italian, Japanese to Thai, and a fusion of International and Western specialities.

Eye
catching stilt walkers in colourful culinary-themed costumes moseyed through
the crowds, stopping for selfies with foodies as they munched on everything
from mini wagyu burgers, blow-torched tuna, French snails and pan-seared tiger
prawns.
The Epicure Gourmet Village located just
next to the Theatre of Cuisines. You can sample and purchase fine food
products, fresh seafood, gourmet meats and cheeses, premium coffees and teas,
the newest technological appliances, excellent wines, inventive cocktails, even
a booth by famed culinary institute Le Cordon Bleu.
Entertainment
for the night came from a duo of top-notch bands, starting with the Aseana
Percussion Unit who let loose a slew of infectious rhythms that kept the
atmosphere flaming hot. Then The Elements whose set continued to move the crowd
as they trod the dance floor and danced the night away. In between, a DJ threw
down a remixed set of classics, from The Supremes to Michael Jackson. Beat it!
Also
making a special appearance was the spanking new Jaguar F-Type Coupe in jet
black. A vision of automotive beauty, the car fit like a glove into the Theatre
of Cuisines alongside the gorgeous food on display.
Over
the month of October, all the 28 participating restaurants will be featuring
their special Festival Menus, so if
you missed out on sampling their cuisine, visit the restaurants themselves for
a fuller experience.
